Thought for the day

We're almost half way through 2011. Hard to beleive it's almost June. This year has so been a year of growth a year of change. Project Search has ended and I will be starting my new job at the YMCA on Tuesday. Looking very foward to this new experieence and what it will hold for me. Two friendships have gone in different directions. Details are best not gone into in this blog but in brief it is for the better. I look foward to what lies ahead even more.. espeically eventually getting a place to call my own

Housecleaning

As of June 15th this blog will be imported in to my Life As We Know It blog and the subsequent facebook page will be taken down. Since I have completed my time in Project Search and have found a job I find not a lot of reason to keep this blog open anymore. Official start date at the Y is Tuesday 5/31. I will be working four days a week & on Saturdays. I will be starting off in the Welcome Center greeting people and then will eventually move into helping out with the newsletter and being an assitant counselor to the theatre and creative writing camps. During the school year I will work as a tutor in the after school program.

I would like to thank all wh0 followed me in my blogging journey through Project Search, my classmates for your friendship, my co-workers for your guidance and teaching and my parents for their endless support throughout the program.. I have learned so much from everyone at St Joe's and I will miss you all.

Onward!

Update August 6th It has been a crazy summer so I am just getting around to merging blogs now. Please remove Operation Job from your follow list as it will no longer be updated. For followers of that blog who have been curious the job at the Y has been going fantastic. In addition to my duties at the front desk I am also helping with data entry projects for the membership department, helping out with the Creative Writing summer camp and working on the Volunteer newsletter. In September I will be helping out with the after school program as a homework turtor. I LOVE THE Y!!

Goal update- Check another one off

Goal #1: Get a job after Project Search is over and move to Nashua.
Part one of this goal was accomplished a month ahead of him. Project Search gets over on June 20th. Last weekend I had an interview at the Nashua YMCA and I got the position. Exact start date has not been determined yet but I am very excited. Best thing about it is that A) I will be doing what I love with assisting with the summer camps for creative writing and theatre and B) I get a free membership to I will finally be able to take Zumba classes! I have been meaning to sign up for them at Kathy Blake but I decided to do one thing at a time and focus on my gym membership at Planet Fitness. Can't wait to start this new position it's going to be awesome. Part two this goal will not happen for a few months as I need to work on saving money for an apartment.

Next on the docket to accomplish
#3 Rae will visit this summer at some point
Right now we are still in the early planning stages of figuring things out. Two major things play into these plans 1) Work schedules and 2) Rae's budget. I am hoping she can come visit for Cooper's party in July or maybe in August for my birthdaty party but it will all depend on her schedule and budget. We'll see what materalizes. Hopefully these plans work out. I miss Rae and need her back in my life. I haven't seen her since she transferred from NEC midsemester spring of senior year.

Results are in!

After a weekend and two days of waiting I finally heard about the job at the Y at 11:45 this morning. Succes!! I got the position. Exact starting date has not been determined yet but it will be sometime next week or the week following Memorial Day. So estatic. It's been a long tiring road of job searching for me and I'm so happy that the next chapter of my life can fully begin. Once I get this job established and have been there for at least three or four months I plan on looking into getting an apartment in downtown Nashua!

On cloud nine!

Life...... post production

So it's been almost a month since the end of Music Man... I haven't really done a decent update since then so here we go.

Tech Week was insane but it was well worth it in the end. The show went fabulous. Friday and Saturday night I went to cast parties at Roger Hurd's and the Abis's. Good times. Joey Abis pulled out the dvd of The Wizard of Oz that my sister was in in 2002 and it was fun to watch that. During the afternoon performance on Saturday there was a fire drill in the middle of our show.. that was a little crazy and needless to say a bit unexpected. Sunday the cast party after set strike was sad but on the a happier note I definitley look foward to auditioning for Oaklahoma in 9 months and think that show will be equally as fun to be in. There's always something to look foward too.

April vacation was fun. Monday and Tuesday I just relaxed at home and worked on my Milford Cabinet article about Les Mis ( the show was awesome by the way... I went on Saturday night.. stay tuned to my Theatre Is My Life Blog for a killer review of the five shows I've seen in the past couple weeks..this includes the two shows I am seeing this weekend) Matt came up to stay for a couple days. Wednesday we went to Weare to go watch the Souhegan Softball team play much to our disappointment the game was postponed to the next day to field conditions... since we were halfway to NEC we decided to go to campus and see what was going on and end up watching a baseball game there. Made me kind of kick myself for not seeing a lot of baseball games while I was in school we then went to the movies to see Soul Surfer which was excellent. Thursday we went bowling and out for ice cream with Sonya Penny and Julie. Great times! Friday we went up to the Lakes Region and went hiking at the Loon Trail in Moultonborough which was quite pretty. We then spent the night at The Inn and Spa at Mills Falls in Meredith which is a lovely hotel. We'll mostly likely stay there this summer at some point when we go see a play at Summer Theatre in Meredith Village. Saturday we went to Wellsely to see Sense and Sensibility The Musical at Wellsely College. Very interesting play.. now I must read the novel on which it is based. Over that weekend I found out my Aunt Hilda passed away so on May 2nd and 3rd I had to go to Massachuetts for the services. Wakes are always a bit unsettling for me but I don't mind funerals. The services were very moving. I will miss Auntie Hilda so much. :(
May 6th I went over Julie's for a movie night. That was fun. We watched Over Her Dead Body and The Prince and Me. I can't believe it took me so long to see The Prince and Me... I was definitley missing out on seeing a good movie.. biggest Julia Stiles fan ever! Saturday I went to NEC for the annual movment concert which was awesome. We met with Leanna Pizer and Stacey Harris for dinner and it was great to see them again. I don't get to see Stacey as much as I would like but I'm hoping to get together with her more often. Mother's day was also quite nice. We went down to Everert and had dinner with my grandparents and then went to visit my dad's mom on the way home. Other than that I have mostly been busy with work. Project Search is in the home stretch. Our graduation is June 20th. Crazy how quickly a year has flown by. Speaking of graduations Saturday I went up to Henniker to go NEC's graduation. The ceremony though a bit chilly was lovely and not as long as the graduations in the past have been (mine in 2008 and Cooper and Erin's in 2009) Jeanne Shaheen was the commencement speaker and I thought her speech was very insightful. I am so proud of all my friends who graduted. You guys made it!! Congrats NEC class of 2011!

End update
