It's been awhile since I've done an actual update so here's one in bullet list form:
Academics:
My classes are going pretty well so far. The work load is somewhat heavier than the last couple semesters combined but at least my time management skills have been somewhat better then they have been in the past couple semesters. I think that the class I like the best so far is Interpeting Contempoary Affairs. While some of the articles we've been reading have been hard to analyze for the most part they are pretty interesting. Doing the reaidng journals is a very interesting thought process . It's interesting to see how the stuff we read about in the articles can relate to my life and whatnot. We have a lot of interesting discussions in Freedom of Speech class too. The Postman reaction paper is a pain to write though. I just started to write it last night naand I hope I willl be able to get it done by Friday and that that I will get a better grade on it than I did when I had to write for media writing last year. My directed study keeps me on my toes. I'm theatre editor for the newenglander. Hopefully the theatre people will give some ideas of what I can write about for articles. The two other classes i'm taking this semester are American Lit Survey 2 and Voice Articulation and Presence in Broadcasting. Voice Articulation and Presence in Broadcasting has been an intersting class. It's the first time i've taken a first seven week course since I've been at NEC so the workload is somewhat heavier than the workload of my other classes. We had a midterm in that class last week and quite honestly I think I bombed it.
Extracurriculars:
The amount of extra curricular I am in has drascitcally cut back since last semester. I decided to eliminate the clubs which I didn't find myself very interested in and that has done wonders for my time management skills. Volleyball started last week and I am so very estacic about the season. We're going to be playing against NHTI and Colby Sawyer and scrimmaging against the John Stark high school volleyball team. We have a tournament in April @ Colby Sawyer but i see a time conflict with doing that alreafy because that's during the same weekend as Under Milk Wood and I hope it won't mess my schedule for crew hours but I don't even know the time of the tournament yet. The clubs i am still in at the moment are Henniker Review, New Englander, CTE, SEC WNEC and Volleyball. I am not sure if I am still going to do my radio show next year or not but let's jus focus on the present ,shall we. Just a reminder that my show is on the air from 1-2 on Fridays so be sure to tune in to WNEC 91.7 FM!!
I am excited about doing crew for Under Milk Wood. I am thinking about doing sound design but I haven't decided yet. I'll have to talk to Darren to see what kind of stuff he has avaiable for me to do.
Friends and Social Life outside of extracurriulars
So basically my friends continue to be awesome and stay amazing. This semester is going to be a ton of fun I have a feeling. Friday Night Movie Society in full swing and we have some pretty crazy times Friday Me, Erin, Jacci, Judy and Sondra all went to go see Norbit. That movie is the most hillarious movie I have seen in awhile.
Miscellanoues Notes
~ Tomorrow is Valentines Day and its going to suck..... again
~ We're supposed to be getting a really huge snowstorm tonight and I am sincerley hoping it will cancel classes tomorrow.
~ I am looking so foward tp , my job at New London Playhouse this summer
~ I had a meeting with the director of the New England College Press yesterday and it went pretty well. Looks like something I might be definitley look into for next semester.
~ The president of our college suddenly resigned on Thursday. When I first heard the news I was shocked because I thought he was doing a really good job.
~ Grammys on Sunday night were amazing. John Mayer is a sexy sexy man!
This blog is for general ranting and stuff that goes on my every day life in work and relationships. Stuff that is incredibly personal will not be posted on this blog. For all theatre related commentary please go to my Theatre is My Life blog.

Finals Stress Fall Semester 06
Finals are going to kill me if they haven't started to already. Let's recap all the work i have to do in the next couple weeks:
Interpersonal Communications: 7-10 final paper on Family Interaction Patterns (bascially expanding on thoughts from my chapter 10 reaction which I got a 75 on.. best grade i've gotten on any of the reaction papers... including the extra credit assignment for research night )
Creative Writing: Portfolio of all the stories I wrote this semester
NewEnglander: Portfolio of all the articles I wrote this semester and a final article which will go into the first issue for next semester... which naturally previews what shows are going to be put on next semester.
Symbolic Logic: Test!! The only test i have and it's gonna fuckin kill me
Dramatic Theory: Research paper and final paper on my own theroy of comedy and tradegy. That will need a lot of expanding.... even though i haven't even started to write it yet. I can already tell it will need a lot of expanding though...
I am not sure how many sources we need for the dramatic theory research paper. So far I have got four including the textbook but i am not sure if we need more than that. I don' t want to end up having too much information... but then again i do need something to work with and I think I should have enough.

Pre-Fall 06 Finals Stres
So here' s another one of those entries where I focus different sectors of how my life is going. Enjoy and feel enlightned by my varying empotions at the current time
Academics: I am honestly pissed off that they got rid of the midsemeter break. I feel like I have been working non-stop since the beginning of the semester on paper after paper and assigment after assignment. Midsemster break allows for a little relax time so that way you can regenerate your mind and revitialize your spiirt. It's that time of year where the work keeps piling up and piling up. After thanksgiving break we only two weeks of classes left until we have to start preparing for finals that's it just two fucking weeks. As I've previously said some classes this semester have been harder than others but for the most part my schedule is pretty evenly balanced. I learned that you should never schedule six classes in a given semester it's just too much and it leaves you physically and emotionally drained. When I had my surgury at the begining of October I was wicked nervous that I would fall behind on my schoolwork so when I got back I felt the need to push myself to reach a certain level in certain classes so I wouldn't fall too behind. This semester i have done suprisingly a little bit better than last fall with time management stuff but it honestly depends on the class. Right now I think i've reached the point where I am going to into nervous breakdown mode... the stress is beginning to build and build I just wonder when I am going reach the breaking point.
Extracurriculars: I still feel like I'm in way too many clubs... but honestly at this point I don't know what I want to stay in and what I want to quit anymore. I still feel like i'm constantly rushing around to meeting after meeting and feel like I have no time to breathe inbetween. I just don't want to end up sacrafing doing the stufff I love to do because I feel like there's too little time to do important things
Love Life: I broke up with Sean and we are still really good friends. I have a new boyfriend. His name is Gabe. I hope this relationship works out a lot better than the first one.
Friends and Social Life: My friends continue to be amazing and the good time keep rolling on. Not enough random quotes have accumulated in order to generate a list yet.. in fact I don't think there have been any quotable moments so I still have last semester's gems such as " I'm eating cake and my lips are on fire" and I'm your imgination run away with me." My friends have been keeping me sane throughout the insane times and the stressful ones and I truly appreciate them for it. :D I did stage crew for Mr. 80% and that was some awesome times. My theatre friends kick ass. Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams was this weekend and it was amazing. Good job to all my fellow theatre geeks. < 3
4 more days til break I can almost TASTE THE GLORY!! or maybe just the glorious turkey my mom will cook on Thanksgiving :D

I'm at work and i am waiting for something to do but my boss stepped out for a second and i'm waiting for him to come back so he can tell me what i need to do today...
and i wonder how many people actually still pay attention to these entries anymore and how worth it is is for me to still update this journal...
(insert comments such as " I still read this journal"... here)
Well anyways Mr 80% went off with out a hitch. I think it was the best play i've worked on so far at NEC other than the Apple Tree. The cast party was on Saturday night at Cynthia's apartment and that was a fun time. Thanks to everyone involved in the show for letting me be part of such an awesome show.. especially Jackie.
I am still hating the insane amounts of homework I have to do. It doesn't seem to be letting up either. The fact that I can't seem to come up with a good schedule it which to do it all in is a pain in the ass. Some assignments are easier to get done than others. NewEnglander for example. I am trying to write an article about the changes to facebook and what people from this school and other schools think about them but i am beginning to wonder if it's even worth to write about that anymore because I don't really know how many people still really care about that on this campus. Oh well at least I have my article on Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams done.. that takes top priority anyway. So that's one of my easier classes. I somehow fell behind in creative writing which isn't that good of a thing but it shouldn't take me too long to catch up on the work i am behind on. I still need to do a bit more research for my dramatic theory research paper and then start organzing my information and taking notes on it. Intro To Symbolic Logic is kicking my ass I really wish I could drop that class but I need it for my math credit grrrrrrr..
How much longer till thanksgiving break? Someone remind me please
I can't believe how fast this semester is flying by.. the fact that they got rid of midsemester break makes it go all the more quicker. While I don't mind the week of thanksgiving I am kind of annoyed they got rid of midsemester break because it's always good to get a break from doing homework and give your brain a rest. Course registration for next semester is already coming up. I am thinking of either double minoring in English and Theatre or swtiching the concentration of my major to public relations instead of professional writing. I will have to talk to my advisor about that when I meet with him on Friday afternoon. Basically my schedule for next semester is pretty generic because I need to take classes for my major and minor such as Inteperting Contemporary Affairs, Freedom of Speech and Short Story Workshop. They are offering this really cool class called The Disney Version which is where we compare Disney Movies to the original fairytales that were based on. That might be something I might be interested in taking since I am the biggest Disney Movie fanatic you will ever meet... I mean obviosuly who doesn't love a good old disney movie every now and then? I am also thinking of taking Directing 1 but i am not sure if that will fit into my schedule yet.
Midterms are over and boy am I glad. My stress level has been somewhat reduced but just somewhat because I still have the stress of working chapter reactions for interpersonal communications all which are due before we leave for thanksgiving break. As far as midterms are concerned i didn't really have very many. Just a presentation for interpersonal communications and a test in Dramatic Theroy. I am very nervous about how I did on my Dramatic Theory midterm I studied so hard so i am hoping all of my studying paid off. My midterm grades were 3 satisfactorys and 2 needs improvements.
Class Ratings:
1- easiest 10- hardest
NewEnglander 1
Basically this class is a breeze. I love getting credit for my articles I write about the theater shows :)
Creative Writing 3
This class is fun and i am enjoying it immensly. Kevin Harvey is awesome!
Dramatic Theory 4
I am quite nervous about how I did on the midterm we took on Wednesday but other than that this class is amazing. Yay Wally :)
Symbolic Logic 7 (this class will most likely kick my ass i just hope i can pass it) This class is kicking my ass and i am begining to become quite doubtful about passing it.
Interpersonal Communications 5
This class is interesting and i am really gaining a lot from it. Could've have done a lot better on my midterm.
Desktop Publishing 3 The material in this course was too hard for me so I had to drop it.
This weekend is midnight madness i am very excited about it It's gonna be one crazy time! HOLLA!!!

Academics: My classes are awesome this semester. I can't say I can complain too much about them at all. I think my favorite classses so far are Dramatic Theroy and Beginning Creative Writing. My other classes are pretty good too. As a whole I don't think this semester should be all that stressful workload wise but here's hoping. Deans List? Yes, that is my ultimate goal this semester . Let's see if it can get fullfilled.
Friends I can see many good things insight for friends this semester. I have made so many awesome new friends. Good times are ahead I can feel it. Yesterday I went to a concert at the Tweeter Center with SEC. I hung out with Jessie. Erin and Mariah and we had a blast. I liked some of the music that was played there but I have to admit hard rock is not my genre. As I have previously stated my floormates are amazing. Connor 3rd floor is clearly the best !
Love Life: My relationship with Sean is going awesome. It's the best thing that has happened to me in a really long time.
Extracurriculars: This is where my stress level has been substantially reduced. Last year I found myself having a hard time balancing my homework on top of always rushing around to meetings and events. I had to do a servere cut back in order to have enough time to be able to balance everythign equally. I can breathe a little bit easier knowing tha I won't have to rush around to half as many meetings as I did last year. I'm kind of disappointed that the radio station transmitter is still broken. I was kind of getting excited about doing my show again since last semester the transmitter was broken all semester and by the time they fixed it I was consumed in studying for finals. :le sigh:
Goal Fullfilltment Upates
2. Apply for a workstudy job and if I don't get the first job i apply for then apply for a coupe of other different jobs. Work two jobs if I have enough time but i don't think i will have enough time to work two jobs between all the other stuff I do and homework but a girl's gotta do what a Goal has been fullfilled since 8/30 The Art Gallery job is pretty fun. I think i am really going to like working there a lot.
Talk to the Pathways people about internships and talk to them about possibly doing an internship during the spring semester. I have been doing a lot of research and I found a really cool internship in Disney World so I might go to an information session on that that is in the fall to see if I want to do something like that Don't think the Disney internship is going to happen but I want to try and see if I can somehow get an internship @ WMUR or a local radio station during spring semester. This is where knowing one of the newscasters at WMUR comes in handy :)
7. Try out for the theatre productions and see where the chips fall for casting.
Another nervewracking week of auditioning has come and gone. I didn't get in but I'm most likely going to do crew. I can't decide if I want to do crew for Mainstage or CTE. Due to the fact that I like to mix things up a little bit I'll probably do crew for CTE sicne I did crew for Mainstage last semester.
11. Hang out with Amanda Keri and Zach as much as possible since they are all graduating in December this should go with out much furthur anaylsis :)
Yes there is no denying that this year is going to be fantastic!

Happy As Can Be
I am quite content with my life right now and cannot complain at all. This year is going to be amazing! Here's why...
First and foremost: I have a boyfriend! I am very happy and excited about being in my first relationship. My boyfriend's name is Sean. I met him last year when I did stage crew for the Apple Tree the most amazing play NEC has ever done nonetheless. We get along awesome and have a lot of stuff in common. I am very happy that I met him. :)
Secondly: My classes are awesome this semester. I decided to stick with my gut feeling and stick with taking Dramatic Theroy. I think I am going to like that class the best. Intro To Symbolic Logic seems like it will be pretty interesting too. Hopefully that class won't be too hard to do well in because I need it in order to fullfill my math credit. The rest of classes are writing classes which is awesome because I will be doing with I love.
Thirdly: Extracurricularwise I am cutting back on clubs this semester. I was in 11 clubs last year and now I have cut that total down to 5 to be able to manage my time better. I eliminated the things that bored me to death and stuck with the things that I like to do.
Finally: My friends are amazing as always. This year will be awesome with them. I plan on embelishing the friendships that I have now and hopefully hanging out with Keri Amanda and Zach a lot more since they are all graduating in December. I also plan on getting to know some of the freshmen that I met at orientation better includng Beth, Jen and TJ. Oh and my floormates are awesome. I've been through the list of the awesome people on my floor already and Jen Harty is my RA. Connor 3rd floors rules face!!!
Time to start heading to bed. I still have a bit of homework to finish before I turn in for the night

Fall 06 Semester begins
So another birthday has come and gone as has another year in this jounrey we call life. I can't beleive I am finally 21. Where has all the time gone? I'm still in shock... just generally speaking!
Last night I went out to Jillian's in Manchester with a bunch of my friends. It was a ton of fun. It was nice to see people I haven't seen in a while or people who I haven't seen very much of this summer. Jillian's is cool becaiuse there is so much to do there. They have pool tables, air hockey and video games. They even had DDR but it was a different version of it than I am used to playing so it was a bit harder. I got a ton of cool presents too which was awesome. Thanks to everyone who came to my party you made my 21st night very memorable. I will never forget it.
Today my family came over for a barbeque. I wish the weather had been a little bit nicer but other than that I was a good time. My aunt just got back from Italy so we got to see pictures from their trip and pictures of my family's house in Italy. It's so pretty I can't wait to go there and visit them.
Good birthday all around! Thanks again to everyone who made it memorable! :)
Well I head back to Henniker on Tuesday for Orientation Leader Stuff Part 2 and helping the freshmen move into their dorms. I seriously can't wait to get back to school. This year is going to be a total blast and the fact that I am 21 adds extra incentive because now I can go out to the bars with my friends on the weekends. Party like a rock star and kick a little ass if you know what I'm saying. :)
This semester is going to be harder than the past two as the intenstiy of my course load gets relativiely harder. In order to achieve my ultimate goal of getting on Deans List this semester I have to take extreme focus and really buckle down on my homework as soon as I start to getting it. Last fall I had a huge and i mean huge problem with time management skills. Balancing homework on top of all the meetings and events I was going to was a bitch and needless to say when the semester ended there were grades for a few classes that I wish had been a lot better than they had essentially turned out. Last semester was better time management wise but I still ended up being disappointed with certain grades for certain classes because I knew I could've done better in them, especially my writing classes. I already know that a few of my classes this semester are going to be really hard and I will have to work harder in those particular classes to get a good grade or just to pass in general. Intro To Symbolic Logic is a key one to do well in since that is counting as my math credit. In order to reach ultimate sucess there are a few things I have to do.
*Find a good balance between doing homework and having fun to reduce stress levels
* CUT BACK ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME I SPEND ON FACEBOOK MYSPACE AND LIVEJOURNAL!!
This doesn't mean I won't be updating livejournal but homework has to take top priority. My mom has already warned me about this and has threatened to take away facebook and myspace. This is mostly due in part to the fact that I spent every waking moment when I wasn't at work on myspace or facebook (or onetruemedia updating my slideshows) and she doesn't like that i spend so much time on both of these websites. This means when school starts I will most likely be updating my livejournal once or twice a week or on the weekends depending on when I have time to get online. As far as myspace and facebook go I'll check both sites every so often during the week but will respond to commments on weekends.
* Cut back on the amount of clubs I am in so i can balance my time more effeciently.
Last year I found myself to be in far too many clubs for my own good. That was bitch for my schedule. Rushing around to meetings and trying to balance that and going to events on top of my homework.. Last year I was in 10 clubs on campus. As of now I currently in about 5 or 6.
The ones I had to drop out of were..
RHA
ISA ( well i haven't decided if i am quitting that yet but i am most likely going to)
Student Senate
Radio ( I'm indecisive about this one too because I am not sure if I am going to be able to to fit doing my radio show in between work and homework so I might end up not doing it just for this semester and pick it up in the spring)
and the ones that get to stay because I can't live without them because awesome people are in them....
TEACH
CAB
Henniker Review (though there reallly aren't any meetings for that.. or at least none that I was aware of last semester)
Volleyball (gotta stay in shape dontcha know? :) )
CTE ( Well, you all know how my decisicon to stay in this club has fluctuated over the past few months but for the most part I'm most likely sticking with it YAY)
New Englander
I am also considering starting up a poetry club. I am not sure how many people will join it or hard it will be to find an advisor for it but I am going to give it a shot and see how things work out. I am also considering joining yearbook because I was involved with that kind of stuff a lot in high school and I loved it. I actually don't really know if they even have a yearbook at our school. Last year I wanted to join but they never put signs up anywhere for meetings. We'll see what happens with that I guess.
I'm peacing out for now

Jr Year Begins
Well this semester is most certainly off to a good start. I'm aiming for a stress-free semester or as stressfree as I can possibly obtain to get it. So happy to be back with my loves. Classes are going most fantastically too Here's what i am taking:Biology and Society: Lauren was so right about Eric Simon. He's an awesome teacher and while science may not be my strongest subject area I think this class may end becoming my favorite one. The labs are going to be fun too. Next week we get to go to the supermarket and compare different food labels.Feature Writing: Some of the people who were in Media Writing with me last semester are back and I have a feeling it's going to be an awesome class. It will give me an oppotunity to polish up my writing and try new styles of writing I may not have tried before.Journalism 2: ummm..getting credit for the articles I write about the theatre shows? Clearly amazing. Who could ask for more? I am sure not gonna complain :D Oh and a shout out to those in CTE who read this (if any of you do do) if you suggestions for things you want to have me write articles feel free to shoot them my way.Intro To Poli Sci: We didn't have class yesterday because my teacher got stuck in a long meeting but i am looking very foward to this class and the debates we'll have. Oral Communications: This class should be interesting. I've never written a speech before well unless you count writing campaign speeches for when I ran for student government. I look foward to see what other people write their speeches about and what kinds of interesting things I come up with for my own speeches. So hopefully my stress level will be reduced to nothing this semester and I can reach my ultimate goal of getting on Deans List. Tuesday was Founder's Day and they celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the college. I found it intensley interesting to learn about the founding of the colllege and how it has evovled since the opening. Now it's time to talk about auditons.. oh the wonders! Suprisingly the musical auditions were a lot less painful then I was assuming they would be. I sang Hero by Mariah Carey as my audition song and I think it went over pretty well. I'm still a bit nervous about getting into the musical because of things I have previously stated about the stakes being set to high as far as the singing part of the auditions go becausse as always I will be pitted against people with better voices than me. The auditon for Zach's play was a breeze for the most part. I think I have a better chance of getting into Zach's play than I do the musical but I guess we'll see where the chips fall for casting, won't we now?Well either way wish me luckl (again) I find out sometime tomorrow afternoon wheater or not I get in so here's hoping.

Fall 05- Dealing with finals stress
Can I honestly say how happy I am that i didn't go to new york this weekend? Last week was so stresful for me and sure new york is a fun time but if i had gone to New York I would have been been overwhelemed with even more work than I would've known how to deal with. I mean I realize I missed a good time but I will have other opportunities to go see shows in New York... that's why it's good to have a mom whose job takes her to new york every now and then then she can take me to see Rent or any other in particular show that might be play whenever we go. The creationism paper for science wasn't so bad after al... even thoughj I had to retype my entire outline because I lost the version I orginally had of it because my computer crashed on Wednesday and being the moron that i can be on occassion i forgot to save it to disk. I am realy hoping that they find out what is wrong with my computer very soon. It really upsets me that this had to happen right before finals week tres annoying. Hopefully not everything will not be totally erased from my hard drive because I had the rest of the 37 chapter novella that I finished writing last year saved on my hard drive and it would suck if my hard drive got erased because i can't find the disk that I saved all my chapters on. And naturally all my homework from this semester is also saved on my hard drive but a lot of that stuff is backed up so i'm not too worried about that. Well the next couple of weeks will definitly be quite insane with preparing for/taking finals. Let's see if I can survive the next 2 and half theree weeks without having a breakdown much like the minor one that I had Thursday morning after I got out of Multicultural Ed. My finals schedule consists of one project two tests and one portfolio for media writing so that shouldn't be too much to stress out on.. well at least i'm hoping so. But then after that I'll be home free and back in Amherst for a monnth of relaxation at home.. though I'll still be working because I need to start doing research for jobs and internships for the summer over the break. Last Tuesday when Keri did her performance the people from WMUR were up her to interview Keri and I was standing right next to Tiffany Eddy at one point during the performance and I should've said to her " Hey I'm looking for internship at your studio for this this summer." but I didn't and thought to myself 'Oh darn, there goes a golden opportunity.' Aw shucks, oh well. This semester has been one hell of crazy one and honestly I can't wait for it to be over because then I can relax. Honestly, so much has gone on for me between my uncle passing away in September, classes, homework; being overwhelemd about being in too many clubs, stupid boys, being nervous about asking a guy out...then actually telling him that I liked him and later regretting it because I thought it would somehow mess our friendship up.. my life has somewhat resembled that of hurricane. But as the short entry below this quite lenghty one states I have awesome friends up here at school who have been there for me through all the rough times I've been through this semester. It's always a good thing to know you have people on your side to bring you up when you are feeling down and to cheer you up. So to everyone... wheather you read this or not... Tim,Erin,Christina,Ali, My suite three girls (Emily;Amy and Megan) Anh; Marion; Sarah; Jennie; Rachel; Darren; Zach, Amanda, Keri (Thursday primarily) and anyone else.. i don't think i'm leaving anyone out if i am feel free to yell at me later and to all the Amherst kids who comment on this journal still and leave me notes on my facebook page thanks for being there I love you guys, you all kick ass.*end of mini sentimental rant... but i think it's important to let my friends know how much they rock my socks off and how i much I appreciate them. * moving on........Showcase is on Friday. Honestly I'm not really sure if I want to perform in it anymore because I don't really think what I am going to do for it will be ready for Friday. But naturally I will go anyway to support my other friends from theatre who are in it. And take some pictures because taking pictures is fun :D Next Friday is the semi formal. I am really excited about going to it but I am having trouble finding a date. I have already asked someone but he said he wasn't sure if he was going to go yet and that he would get back to me. I'm not sure how long he's going to take to get back to me but I should let him know I need to know what his answer is by a certain time so that way I have enough time to ask someone else to go with me if he says no. If I strike out with finding a date then I will just go stag because it is more fun that way on occassion. I do have a few people i mind just in case this person says no so i am not going to give up. I'm going to predict my end of the semester grades just for kicks because it's always fun to predict things though most of the time when i predict things i am wrongScience B-/CMulticulutral Ed CMedia Writing B+Politics Bso we'll have to see where things end up with that. Wish me luck.. I'll need it moreso for science than the other classes because I think i'm borderline in that class gradewise and quite honestly i'm worried that i am going to fail it. But maybe I just jump to conclusions too much. I'll just go with the flow. back to finishing my science paper~Janine
