Above All

I am very frusturated because I still don't have a job yet... stressed and kind of getting depressed. It seems like everywhere I turn there seems to be a roadblock. I did turn a few job applications at summer camps and the Hampton Inn but I won't hear back from them for another couple weeks. I have also applied at Fridays and the Black Forest Cafe for hostesting jobs and I am supposed to be hearing back from them sometime today to set up an interview. I am going out with my job coach @ 2 to go pick up some more applications. Friday I might go to a job fair in Boston and see what kinds of opportunities they have there for me. If I end up getting a job down there then I will most likely end up moving in with my grandparents. I wouldn't mind that actually because there seem to be almost no jobs around here whatsoever.
STRESS CITY! OMG!! I'm going so insane with stress.. and also i am quite stir crazy because I am so bored out my wits at home.

As of tomorrow there will be 23 days til I go to New York! I am getting so excited and anxious. I hope the plans for the Barn Playhouse reunion that my friend Colleen and I are organizing will start fall into place soon. People are supposed to rsvp by April 16th so they still have a little under two weeks to let Colleen or I know they are coming. Hopefully the party will have a big turnout. I am getting so excited to see HAIR and get the backstage tour from my friend Jay. It's gonna be wicked awesome!!! YAY YAY YAY!!

I have two volunteer job interviews this week one tomorrow at Parkhurst Place a senior citizen home in Amherst and one at Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua on Thursday at 1. I figured volunteering is a good way to get my face out in the community and hopefully get a job at place like that.

So I am totally hoping Megan goes home on American Idol tonight. In my opinion she is only in the compettion for her looks and her singing voice is not that great. She should have gone home two weeks ago instead of Alexis. I can't wait for this week's theme top 100 songs. I can't wait to see who gets what song and hope one of the guys gets a Rascal Flatts song.. I think that either Scott or Kris would do really good at a Rascal Flatts song!
My NCAA basketball bracket totally and completely sucks. Out of the teams in my bracket the only teams that made it to Final Four were Louisville and UConn. I hope UConn wins it all.. that would be one point for New England since BU got out in the quarterfinals. For men's hockey UNH got beaten by BU so I was pretty bummed out about that but out of New England teams Vermont and BU are in the slots to go to the Frozen 4 so I'm stoked. A couple more weeks and the the Red Sox start their regular season! I am so excited!!

Time for lunch

So excited!!

I love you Matt!

My  plans for my trip to New York at the end of April with my boyfriend for our one year anniversary   are starting to fall into place.   I am so excited.   The hotel room has been brought, the tickets for HAIR  has been reserved, the restaurant for the Barn reunion has been selected.  The details that need to be worked out are transportation too and  from the city and reservations at the restaurant for the Barn reunion  Colleen Fee and I are keeping track of the RSVPS and  the week before I go  I will have a final head count to make the reservation at the Barn reunion. Hopefully it will have  a big turn out but  it's hard to tell because I don't know what people's schedules are going to be like.

Job search is still continually stressfull. This week I dropped of an application @  The Hampton Inn, The Black Forest Cafe and Fridays.   I also heard back from the lady in charge of the summer camp in Merrimack and she said they don't start scheduling interviews til the second week of April and interviews for the Hampton  Inn don't start til May 1st. Hopefully  I get a job soon I am getting so tired of looking.

I do not have much else to update on.

Until later farewell

Update!

So it's been awhile since I updated... actually updated not just posted a filler post about American Idol or March Madness.
Last weekend was pretty boring Matt was away for the weekend visiting family and Heather was in North Carolina visiting her brother who just came from Iraq. I made the best of it though. Friday evening I ushered at the play at the Boys And Girls Club No Sex Please We're Bittish. You can see my brief review of it at my theatre reviews blog http://theatrereviewer826.blogspot.com. Saturday I went to my sister's dance team compettion at Souhegan. It was long but fun. Souhegan won first place overall.
Now it's back to my griping about job searching.
So when it boils down to it there are not a lot of jobs out there right now. I can't even beleive i've almost been out of school for a year and looking for a job for almost just as long. The freelance job at the Cabinet and subbing provide me with some spending money but the issue at hand is finding a second job to pay back my loans from NEC. I have applied to pretty much every place imaginable and there are very few places that seem to be hiring. I am thinking of applying for a job at Seasonal Pools and Spas on Rt 101A and hostess jobs at local resturants just so I can get a bit more money coming in. Since I can't seem to find much full-time/part time work I have decided to do some volunteering just to get me out of the house. I am going to be working at Gateways in Nashua helping out with their newsletter and also trying to get an in with voulteering at Southern NH Medical Center doing anything I possibly can. I was supposed to have an interview yesterday with the volunteer coordinator but she has been sick all week so we rescheduled our appointment for sometime next week.

American Idol Week 2 Summary and Week Three Predictions

Okay so week two of American Idol has passed. Last week's theme for songs was country. I was quite excited becaue country is one of my favorite genres of music besides showtumes and classic rock. Here is how I would rate last weeks's performances on a scale of 1-10(In alphabetical order)
Adam- In my opinion I think Adam will be the next one to go. I am getting quite bored with him. I think he is better suited for musical theatre and not American Idol . Apparently he was in Wicked. I have no idea what character he played though. 4
Alexis- I am not really familiar with Dolly Parton's music at all but I thought she did a pretty good job. I was sad that she got voted off. Michael or Adam should have gone home. 6.5
Allison- She is a powerhouse! I was shocked that she was in the bottom three. I think she is one of the best contestants this season. 7
Anoop- He's been one of my favorites since the beginning when they were auditioning. I think he has a good shot at getting a record deal. He really bounced back from his performance last week. As Simon said he went from Zero to Hero. 7
Kris- I think he is one of the better male contestants this season. He has a wonderful voice and I liked his song choice. 6
Danny- He totally rocked Jesus Take The Wheel. Loved his performance 9
Lil- Her performance was pretty good. It shows she can add some variety to what she sings. I love how Simon comments on her wardrobe all the time when he doesn't even know anything at all about fashion. 6
Matt- Clearly he is one of my favorite guys this season other than Danny. He really reminds me of Justin Timberlake. 8
Megan- She is the complete opposite of Anoop and has my least favorite contestant from the beginning of show other than Tatianna Deltoro who luckily got voted off during wildcard week. In my opinion she doesn't have that great of a voice while she has had her good moments.. like a few songs she sang during Hollywood week. She totally butcherd Can't Help Lovin That Man of Mine from Showboat which she sang for her audition and Walkin' After Midnight by Patsy Cline which she sang last week, During Michael Jackon week her renditon of Rockin' Robin was also pretty horrid. If Adam is not the next person to go then she willl be. 3
Michael- I personally didn't feel that his performance was the memorable at all. 3
Scott- While I sort of agree with Paula's critique that he uses the piano as a crutch I do think he is really talented and will probably end up making it to the top 5. 6.5

This weeek's theme is MoTown. Prelimilarly here is who are in my top and bottom three. Tomorrow I will post who I think will go home after having seen the performances.
Top 3: Scott Lil Allison
Bottom 3: Adam Megan Michael

BLARGH!!

Well I am starting to become less and less hopeful about finding a job that will pay decent money for quite awhile. Here are my updates :
  • TJ Maxx and Market Basket are still in hiring freezes pretty so i am pretty much giving up on both of those
  • Walmart said they would call me back when a position fits the criteria I put on my application Who knows how long it's going to take them to call me back.....
  • While I did get hired to sub in Milford I haven't gotten called in yet and still don't get called in that much at Nashua either. Hopefully that will change soon.

At this point I need to keep my sanity in check... I am going utterly stir crazy by sittting at home doing absolutley nothing. I have been applying to local summer camps so if I don't find a job with in the next two months at least I'll have something lined up for the summer. I have already applied at Camp Sargent and Camp Young Judea. I plan on also applying at Girls INC, The Boys and Girls Club in Nashua, The Boys and Girls Club in Milford and Camp Naticook in Merrimack. I am considering going to the job fair that is at Southern NH University on April 9th that has been advertised on WMUR for the past 3 months. Maybe I'll find some places to apply to there.

So utterly frusturated and slowly running out of options of places to apply.

NYC What is it about you?

Some of my NLBP loves backstage @ Annie Get Your Gun... can't wait to see some of them again!! YAY
Kneeling: Nic Rouleau; Caroline Kittrell; Georgia Warner-Freed
Standing:  Caroline Massagee, Louie Napoleone, Maggie Politi, Will Porter, Nicolina Sciascia, Colleen Fee

I do not know who took this picture... it was in Maggie's facebook album so  I am assuming it was whoever had her camera.

Group photo from  last years  Barn Reunion in  New York
L To R:   Jason Burrow,  Cooper Bowman, Ryan Rubek, Janine Leffler, Nic Rouleau, Sam Burrow and Heather Jewett
Photo taken by Jay Johnson

My boyfriend and I are going to New York April 24-26th for our one year anniversary! I am so excited and am seriously counting the days til we get on that train and take the 5 hour ride to one of my favorite places in the USA. We are seeing the Broadway revival of HAIR and I am wicked excited.. and even more excited for the backstage tour my friend Jay is giving me! I <3>
This weekend I went to go see Race To Witch Mountain with Matt. It was a pretty good movie.. the first Disney movie I've seen in a really long time. It was intense. Dwayne Johnson ( formerly WWE's The Rock) is a far better actor then he is a wresteler in my opion. After the movie we went out to dinner @ Applebee's and then I slept over Heather's. Today I had an interview @ Gateways in Nashua for a volunteer position. Gateways is a company in Nashua that helps people with disabilities find jobs. I will either be doing office work for them or going one day a week to Alvirne High School in Hudson to help out wit the senior citizen program they have there. Volunteering will definitley be good. I need to get out of this house. I am going so stir crazy it is so not even funny!!
I need to find out when course registration for next semester is at the Tech College... furthur more I need to determine what I am going to study. I am still having a hard time deciding between Early Child Hood Education and Speech Pathology. Doing both would be way too much money. I heard speech pathologists are in really high demand right now so I am kind of leaning in that direction but I am not totally sure yet. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH more stress.
Calllin it a night early tonight.. who knows if i am going to get called in to sub tomorrow. Here's hoping I do.
xoxo

American Idol Week 1 Results Show and job search

Well the fitst of many intense American Idol results shows has passed. Two out of the top 13 have gone home. Sad about one not so sad about the other. Jasmine Murray was talented and I hope she reauditions next year. Jorge Nunez was good but not as good as some of the others.. This looks to be the toughest season yet but still very fun to watch.
People to watch this season
Allison Irreheta
Adam Lambert
Danny Gokey
Alexis Grace

These four have been my top favorites so far this season and I have no doubt that they will make it all the way to the end of the compettion. It looks very likely that Adam will win or at least come in second.

Job search wise: I have been refining all my search results on Indeed and hopefully they come up with good matches. These are the fields I'm looking to apply in. Anyone have any leads about places that are hiring? PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
  • Medical Coding
  • Non-Profit Orginizations
  • College Admission Offices or perhaps even high school guidance offices (clerical work)
  • Theatres (Membership; general clerical work heck i'm even willing to do some ushering just to get my foot in the door)

Not much else to update on really. Will update more when I have more to say

Now time for an update though there isnt a whole lot to say

A few weekends ago I went to Henniker with Matt and Heather to go visit all my friends at NEC, Quite honestly that has been the biggest highlight of my past couple of weeks,,, mostly I've been stressed out with looking for a job and seeing my NEC was a very welcome releif to all the stress I have been under with job searching. Though I must admit going out to dinnner so much is really starting to ravage my bank account,. I have to cut that out. The next time I go to Henniker won't be for a few weeks when I go to see the Mainstage Play By The Bog Of Cats my best friend Cooper's final play at NEC. Anyway back to Saturday. We went out to dinner at Sonny's. the cheaper alternative to Daniel's where we usually eat. Then we hung out in the coffeehouse and played 3 rousing rounds of Apples To Apples.. the best game ever created for serious. Then we had to go drive Cooper to a party @ Emma Laing's apartment which we had trouble finding so we dropped him off at the theatre so he could get directions. Then we listened to this awesome singer Beau Bristow in the coffeehouse. Overall an awesome night,American Idoll Update: Judging from tonight's performances it's clear to see that the forces to be reckoned with will be Lil Rounds, Allison Ireheta and Adam Lambert. Scott McIntyre's performance was my favorite out of all of them.. most powerful song I've ever heard. I think that Megan Joy Corkery and Jasmine Murray will probably end up going home.Job Search: Even though I got the subbing job at Milford the search continues because I need to find a second job because I need to get on the ball with paying my loans from NEC. I have completed two summer camp applications which I need to print out and send off in the mail tomorrow. I also need to follow up on some phone calls I made several weeks ago to Market Basket and Walmart that I was holding back on making because I was waiting to see if I got hired at the tech college or not. Money would be so wonderful right now.. I need to save it because I wanna go back to NYC I need a break from the boringness of New Hampshire

American Idol Wild Card Results

Very happy with the results of last night's American Idol wild card show
The top 13 yes you saw it right 13 has been completed by
Matt Girard
Meghan Jo Corkery
Anoop Desai
Jasmine Murray

Thank god that they got rid of Tatitanna Del Toro!! While she had a decent singing voice she was the biggest drama queen ever. It was kind of funny after the results were given when she was kneeling in front of the judges table looking like she was begging for another chance. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!

YAY!

Not much to write about but I do have some very good news to report!!!

I GOT THE SUBBING JOB IN MILFORD!!

Season 8 of American Idol so far

Not sure if this particular entry should be in this blog or my theatrereviewer826 one but I suppose I could always move it later if I decide it would fit better in the other blog.

I am not sure how many of you blog followers are fans of American Idol but i'm sure this is the first of many entries in this blog you will see about American Idol. This show has been on since I was a freshmen in high school so I have been a fan of it since the beginning. My favorite singers of pervious seasons have been Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Clay Aiken and Jordin Sparks just to name a few. Now we are in Season 8 and what a whirlwind it has been so far. Right now the top 36 is being built and the first two weeks of the top 12 formulation have truly been nailbiters because there are so many talented singers (and perhaps some not so talented) that make it very hard to pick and choose. So far the standouts have been Alexis Grace, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Allison Ireheda. All who have been voted into the top 12. Anoop Desai totally got robbed and I am really hoping that he is brought back for the wild card round tomorrow. Same thing with Meghan Jo Corkery from last week's group. Though she totally butchered her audition song Can't Help Lovin'That Man of Mine from the Broadway Musical Showboat (one love to Colleen Fee) she has a really good voice and I think she can go really far in the compettion. Out of all the groups this one was the most talented one. Scott McIntyre will definitley dominate and I think Lil Rounds will too. We'll have to see how America will vote.

In other news I have my job interview tomorrow at Heron Pond Elementary School in Milford for a subsitute teaching position. I am not so nervous about the interview itself more so the outcome and if I get the job because at this point I am getting so tiresome of looking for a job but the job market is not the best right now because of the economy and that is the hard thing about it. I am actuallly kind of hoping I get more hours for subbing in Nashua but since that hasn't been happening too much lately I am not sure how hard I should wish for that. More follow up calls to make tomorrow or Thursday...Market Basket and Walmart. I'm also thinking of doing some volunteer work just so I can get out of the house.

Time for bed! Must rested for my intereview
Love

Boom! Another road block!

Well I got a letter in the mail today from the people at the tech college. I didn' t get the secreterial position I applied for. I am totally disappointed. I was really hoping to get that job it would have been perfect for me. I start working with my new job coach from Granite State Independant Living tomorrow..well depending on the wheather damn snow. My three job goals are clerical and office, membership and paraprofessional. For membership I hope to do sonething for either a non-profit orginization or a college alumni office. I reposted my resume on Monster.com so I am hoping my searchs on there turn out more possible options for places to apply to.
In the meanwhile I have a job interview at Heron Pond Elementary School in Milford on Wednesday afternoon at 1pm for a substitute teaching job. Hopefully I will get that job because Milford is closer to my house than Nashua. I haven't been getting a lot of hours in Nashua lately but I am hoping I get called this week. It would be nice to have some money coming in because I don't have much coming in right now and I have quite a bit going out. I also have another article to work on for the Milford Cabinet about a one act play festival that is going on at the Boys and Girls Club in Milford that is on Wednesday so Wednesday will be a packed day for me. To bed directly after I watch American Idol with no distractions whatsoever.

I also have to make follow up phone calls @ the following places to check on job application status
  • Milford Market Basket
  • Nashua Market Basket
  • Walmart
  • Texas Roadhouse

Wish me luck with my interview folks!

Time for bed. It's been a long weekend and I'm very tired.
