It's SO early in the job searching process and I am already stuck about everything and quite frusturated. At least volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce one or two days a week stops me going insane. I also plan on volunteering for Share a distribution center in Milford that gives out clothes and food to needy people in the local community.
There are just so FEW jobs out there right now so the biggest gripe I have is figuring out where to look. At this point I'm pretty desperate so yesterday I called resturants to find out who was looking for hostesses. Picked up a few applications today and will fill them out later this weekend. I also plan on calling Pep Direct back to see if how many openings they need filled for second shift. (3pm-11pm) I didn't get the job at Autism Bridges. Disappointment #1 in the newly restarted job search process. Hopefully the successes will outnumber the disappointments this time around.
This blog is for general ranting and stuff that goes on my every day life in work and relationships. Stuff that is incredibly personal will not be posted on this blog. For all theatre related commentary please go to my Theatre is My Life blog.

2nd family stress no more
Back in the fall there was a substanial amount of time when I did not write in this blog because there was some stuff that was going on that I thought was best to keep to myself in regards to drama that had arisen in two seperate situations. One which was related to an argument I was in with my best friend Heather which has since been resolved and some issues in was dealing with a few of my friends from NEC who shall remain nameless and needless to say are no longer my friends. The reason they are not my friends anymore has nothing to do with me but with their own personal choices they have made in which to distance themselves from our group of friends. I deem it best to respect their wishes and not contact them anymore and hope they come around eventually and realize how immature they are being. In the meantime I have wished them well in the rest of their academic careers at NEC and what ever they choose to persure after graduation.
Since I graduated from NEC in 2008 there was been a substanial amount of childish drama between my group of friends at NEC. I have tried my very best to keep my distance from everything and not get involved but instead to only give my opinions where I felt they were necessary. However, drama continued to escalate and I still was made aware of it through my other friends who are still at the school. While I was moving on with my life away from NEC and making new friends away from NEC I was sincerely holding out hope that people would put thier issues with eachother aside so that way we could still get together and hang out whenever Matt and I go up to visit NEC. I have recently realized and begun to accept that sadly this is no longer the case. I am not not the only person who is upset by this though. I can think of a few other people that are upset by this but I'm choosing not to name names as not to stir the pot and cause more drama. I wish things could go back to the they way they were before I graduated when everyone got along and there was no reason to fight with each other. As far as I can tell, and this is honest and sad truth nothing is repairable.. The damage done between certain people is too great and there is no way for people to work things with eachother no matter how hard I hoped and prayed that would happen. When all this shit even started what I really should have done was ignored all the messages in my facebook inbox that were related to the drama. I didn't really have the energy or time to deal with any of it anyways. Of course being the good friend that I am I felt the need to give advice wherever I was best fit to give it. Big mistake because that just led me to getting more messages in my inbox about drama I did not even want to be related to. I am not saying I do not love my NEC friends (the people I still keep in touch with) because I do. I love them all deeply. They all know this. This is no disrepect to any of them. My general point is that if I had wanted to distance myself from the drama I whould have ignored all the facebook messages and at this point. I deeply regret NOT doing that. It would have deeply brought down any unneeded stress and anxiety I was dealing with at that time. In which was in constant overload between the job search and my deperession with the Barn Playhouse and the whole sitution with Will Porter.
At this point I feel it is best to move on. I do not know how often I plan on going to NEC this semester. Every time I go up there I just hear about more drama and I can't even deal with hearing about it anymore. It just really hurts me on a deep personal level that people are letting to many stupid things get in the way of us all hanging out together. I'm not even intending to be overdramtic here. These are simply facts and general feelings. This is my livejournal after all. I think I deserve to be honest.
In other news I had an interview on Thursday that went really well. The position I interviewd for was an admistrative postion at an office in Bedford that does intake for providing services for children with Autism. Crossing my fingers for a second interview.

Tell Me Quick about Hugo and Kim
So Matt Rae and I have agreed that it would be best to postpone our excursion to New York until a time when we all have more money. All three of us are still looking for work right now and who knows it will take us to find jobs. All three shows we are considering seeing are doing well in the box office and hopefully this will continue so they will still be playing when we go there. The three shows we are choosing between are A Little Night Music (Yay for Ramona Mallory!!! ) , Billy Elliot (which I personlly find to be a bit over rated) and Jersey Boys.
Speaking of work I have a job interview on Thursday (was supposed to be tomororw but it got pushed back) at Autism Bridges in Nashua. Autism Bridges is a company which provides services for children and adults with Autism. I think that will be a great place for me to work since I like working with people with disabilities. The position I will be interviewing for is an admistrative office position. *crosses fingers*
Theatre wise I am currently doing tech work for a youth theatre production of Annie Junior which opens next Friday. I am excited about it. Annie is one of my favorite musicals (I have a lot of favorite musicals btw) and after that I will be helping out backstage with my high school's production of Bye Bye Birdie (hence the title name for the entry). So excited as Bye Bye Birdie is another one of my favorite musicals. I am glad I can give back to the theatre program I was a part of five years ago and can work on a show with my former directors. I have not seen a show at Souhegan since 2007 when they did Beauty and The Beast. Time conflicts the past two years disallowed me to see Carsouel and Pirates of Penzance. It should be a great expereince! Looking so forward to it,
American Idol Season 9 has BEGUN!! I have decided to watch whole season from beginning to end... which I have typically done for most of the seasons it's been on except for last year because they audition shows were tortorous to watch. A majority of the auditions so far have been tolerable and some have been down right amazing. There this one girl from the Boston auditions who really stood out to me. Her name is Katie and she is 16 and is from CT. I think she will definitly go all the way. Stay tuned for more American Idol updates.
Looking for a good movie to see GO SEE THE BLIND SIDE! It's amazingly powerful! I was so happy Sandra Bullock won the Golden Globe. That was truly the best performance she has ever done in a movie in a long time.
Not much else to write about!

Livejournal crossover
So livejournal always has these writer's block questions. I don't really take a lot of time to think about them but this particular one sparked my interest figured it would give you blog readers some insight about where I stand politically
To be honest I do really follow polotics at all. I try to avoid it at all costs. I don't know where my friends stand as far as their views because we don't really talk about politics very much. Two issues that are really important to me are the rights for people with disabilites and Gay Marriage. The first one is important to me becausae I have a disabiltiy. I was born with mild cerebal palsy and I have a non-verbal disorder that has not been fully diagonosed that is somewhere on the Autism spectrum. Based on my circumstances I have always felt that people with disabilities are serverely misunderstood and classified often as stupid whne most of the time they are just as smart as thier counterparts that are not disabled, For the second one I am huge supporter of gay rights. I really wasn't made aware of this issue til I went to college and Matthew Shepard's mother came to speak to students at my school my freshmen year. She gave a really eye opening speech and my school's theatre department performed The Laramie Project the same year. That was one of the plays that hit me so emotionally that I almost cried during the performance. That really opened my eyes to gay rights and that is what caused me to join the Gay Straight Allliance at my college. Til I joined that club I didn't really know many people who were gay or bisexual. Now that I am more openminded I realize that besides their sexualtiy gays bis and lesibians are really the same as we are their view point on love is just a little bit different then ours. When it boils down to it though love is love and sexuality should withstand no boundaries. As far as the other catergories are concerend I don't really have a solid opinon on capital punushment because I don't know a lot about it. Abortion is another issue I feel strongly about. In my opinion it is the mother's decision what she want to do but I am in support of life so if the mother does not feel confident in wanting to care for a child she can always put it up for adoption.

Inner Fury and Resolutions
So yesterday more details were released in relation to the murder in Mont Vernon that happened on October 4th. After learning of this information I was left disturbed and utterly disgusted that these young men could commit such a heinous crime. I do give Jaimie Cates a lot of credit for being so brave.
For furthur information to to WMUR.com
2010 New Years Resolutions
1. Excercise more
2. Write at least one story or poem a day
3. Go see shows at theatres in NH I haven't gone to yet
4. Find a job that pays decent money so I can start to pay my loans back
5. Save up enough money to take a foriegn language class at the tech college
( ihave more to add. they will be added later.)

Rolling with the punches
Today I went to Target to pick up my check. While there I met with the HR person and we talked at length about my layoff. I am less confused then I originally was and not as much pissed off about getting laid off but more so pissed off about finding another job and how long it will take me to find something else. I made some mistakes that I regret but I will only use these mistakes as stepping stones in the next place of employment whereever I end up working.
I liked working at Target and they said they will rehire me for the next holiday season. In the mean time I must step up the process in finding something else. Hopefully I will be able to find something else quicker than I did the first time. Hopefully this new leg of my job search will be full of fewer disappointments. Fewer disappointments in my opinion will only be possible if the economy turns around and who knows how long that will take.
Another recent diappointment I got was getting denied from getting services at Area Agency in Nashua. I am hoping to get this reversed because the only way I can get into the job training program at St Joesph Hospital is if I am recieving services from Area Agency. The St Joesph Hospital Training Program I believe will be a great stepping stone for me to get the training I feel I have been missing in my previous jobs in order to succeed.

Update Feb 15 My denial into getting services at Gateways got reversed! I am so so so happy. This could give me more an edge and new ideas in finding places to work. I am out of ideas of places to apply at this point. :)
Over the past several months I have noticed that praying has helped me a lot to get through difficult things so I think really all I need to do is pray that everything will work out in terms of the job search and getting the job at Summer Theatre in Meredith Village this summer.

Happy New YEar
First of all Rest In Peace Keith Wilson, a fellow high school classmate. He died of brain cancer early yesterday morning. I may have not been close to him but I remember seeing him in the halls and he was always nice to people. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
Time to recap the holidays now!
Christmas Eve I was up at 10:00 and then went with my sister to go pick up Heather around 11:30. We spent time helping my mother bake food to bring over my uncle's house for Christmas Eve and left around 4:30. We had the typical meal of seven fishes and prime rib.. always delicious. We then passed around the prediction book and wrote our predictions down for 2010. Mone are a few entries below. Christmas Day I slept in til about 9:30 0r 9 then we opened presents and relaxed.
The goods
Money
2 itunes gift cards
The last book in Twilight series which I have already finished
Clothes
Glee soundtrack
Dreamgirls DVD
A new journal
A new calendar
Seasons 1 &2 of Full House on DVD (which I will watch in order to get inspiration for more fan fiction.)
We left around 2:30 to head down to my Aunt Joan's house in Burlington MA for dinner stopping briefly on the way at my Uncle Derek's ( dad's stepbrother) house in Tweksbury to drop off presents for his kids. I was never so full as I was after Christmas dinner. totally and completly stuffed. After dinner we played our annual Spoons Card game. I was once again eliminated in the first round. Next year I need to be quicker with my spoon retrivel. I have no trouble with getting the right amount of cards in my hands it's just a matter of reacting quickly to picking up the spoons.
This week has been boring. I have spent most of my time looking for jobs and working on the Little Shop of Horrors fan fiction I am writing. Yesterday was New Years Eve. Originally Matt Sonya and I had planned to go to Portsmouth to First Night but we heard on the news that there was going to be way too much traffic and it would be next to impossible to find any parking. Instead we went to Peacock Players to see Night of A Thousand Stars a variety show which is reviewed in my theatre blog. After the play there was a big dance party and then we rang in the new year with noise makers and sparkling cider. Quite fun!
2010! New year, yet another new clearn slate. I had the hugest issue in the past couple years moving on with stuff related to the New London Barn Playhous where I interned in the summer of 2007. IT was a mix of dealing with changes that were going on at the theatre and dealing with anxiety that I was going to be forgotten about by everyone I worked with. Clearly I am not easy to forget and though distance separates most of us the only thing that ultimately unties us is the memories from that amazing summer at NLBP! Now with that issue behind me I am a new revitalized person who is not so wrapped up in the past and can fully focus on the present and the future. Once again I am on the job search and hope to find something sooner rather than later. I have decided to bypass going back to school due to financial issues and ultimately deciding to focus on finding a job in the career I got my degree in at NEC.
Happy New Year Everyone!
