Will goal # 3 be acheivable?

#3 on Hopes/Dreams/Goals list for 2011 Rae will come visit this summer
Rae is a good friend of mine from NEC who transferred spring of my senior year * her sophomore year* I haven't seen her since then so we are long overdue to see each other.

Summer is fading fast and it has been rather busy (for me and most likely for Rae) we haven't really nailed down any definite plans though tenative plans have been in the works since March. Everything hinges on her schedule so I am hoping she is able to get time off from work to come visit. We have tried to get together in the past few years but due to various circumstances our plans have changed at the last minute. I am hoping we'll be able to get something solidified in the next couple weeks.

I miss Rae a ton and haven't seen her in forever. :)

So once again schedules did not coicide with eachother and this goal will carry over to next year She rcently moved in with her mom in PA so maybe Matt and I will go down that way to visit her at some point. I haven't the slightest idea when we are going to New York again but there is always the option that she can meet us in the city though I think she was a lot closer to NYC whetn she lived in Jersey and I am not sure how far the citm is from where she currently lives. She has a new boyfriend who I look so foward to meeting. The four of us will go on many adventures. Hopefully budgets and schedules allow these plans to happen! That has been the biggest issue in the past.

Another Thought For The Day-Tumblr

So it gets pretty boring on here sometimes. Mostly I feel like I do this mostly for myself. While this 95% true I feel I would benefit in having a blog on a site where I have more friends who blog so where could share our insights on issues that affect us and whatnot

Livejournal is too old school and overrated not giving that site a second glance. That's why I started blogging on blogspot more often in the first place.

Seriously considering moving this blog over to tumblr starting after the holidays. I spent a lot of time in the spring transferring old lj entries over to this blog so I am not sure I am exactly ready to part with this blog fully yet. I like to reveiw the old entries and see just how far I have come since my NEC days. Once I move to tumblr that will become my permanent personal blog. I will only be coming back to blogger to update my Theatre Is My Life Blog and the blog about the Princess KIM Play.

Link to my tumblr http;//sweetjanine1985.tumblr.com

I will slowly but surly make the transition to tumblr. Once full transfer is complete I will still keep this blog up but will no longer be updating it.

Thought For The Day

This showed up in my mini feed the other day on facebook and I could not agree with it more!!
I have been in situations releveant to this many times in the past.

Week 8 Dancing With The Stars Power Ratings

Due to a power outage I missed Dancing With The Stars last week. David Arquette was eliminated which was unfortunate because I think Hope should have been the one to go home.

Week 8 Dancing With The Stars Power Ratings
1 JR & Karina
2. Ricki and Derek
3. Rob and Cheryl
4. Hope and Maks- Hope has really improved a lot from two weeks ago I must say. She could easily be a contender for the trophy now.
5. Nancy and Tristian. I think Nancy will go home this week.

Thought for the day- On Snowtober

This past weekend we got a huge noreaster. Oh, New England weather. My street still slightly resembles a war zone. A very picture worthy site, Those will be taken eventually. Our power was out since Saturday night and just came back on at 12:15. I was freaking out because I thought I was going to have to cancel my weekend plans which had already been rescheduled from last weekend because the power was still going to be off. Thank goodness. I will look forward for it to snow when it is actually supposed too. I hate suprise noreaters like these, They tend to catch me off gaud.

Thought For Today- On October Snow

Later on today we are supposed to get a huge snow storm. I am not in the least bit happy about this mostly because it screws up the plans for the Halloween party I was going to have. The movie night got pushed back til next week. This makes tomorrow night an ideal night to write fan ficton and/or watch Halloween specials on ABC Family. I will most likely do the same thing on Sunday since road conditions will not be ideal for going to Zumba.

October Events

Well since Alumni Weekend things have been quite busy. October 8th after work me Matt Penny and Sonya went to the Pumpkin Festival in Milford. Didn't go to that last year because I was sick. The talent show was amazing. I was incredibly impressed by the 11 year old girl from Hollis who won first place. She sang a pretty difficult song for an 11 year old. Sunday I went to Zumba and then Matt and I went hiking in Mine Falls Park. For the record I have been loving the weather lately and am not happy that snow is predicted in the forecast for Thursday. It's way too early for snow. I have gone to the movies twice with Julie to see Contagin (which I wasn't crazy about) and Moneyball (which is a good movie that I highly reccommend) and Iam going to see Footloose in a few hours which I am so excited about. Last Friday wer had a movie night for Women's Group at Julie's where we watched The Departed which suprisingly I thought was really good. Saturday night I went to a party at Marshall's house. It was so great to see him again since he left Project Search kind of abruptly three weeks before graduation and I had not seen him since then. His mom is starting up a social group which I am excited about because it will give me the opportunity to see some of my Project Search friends again which is great snce I can't always make it to the Alumni Club meetings. Sunday Matt and I went to see And Then There Were None at the Amato Center. Nothing like a good thriller to get me in the Halloween spirit. Head to my Theatre Is My Life blog for a review! Saturday is the Hallowen Party for Women's Grop which I can't wait for. We are going to be watching Halloween/80s movies. Lots of great movies to choose from too.

Aside from my very active social life work has been keeping my equally as busy. I have my 90 day review on Thursday for my job at the Y. I am hoping to get more varied hours so I can work during the day and at night. I also am getting my first article published in Telegraph Encore this week which I am so stoked about. :)

Matt and I also enjoyed a nice dinner at Pasta Amore the new Italian Resturant on RTE 101A. I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a good place to go out to eat.

Baby Lisa

This story has been hot in the news for the past two weeks. I definitley can sense it may end up having similarities to the Casey Anthony case if it ends up going to court. I think the mother is definitley acting very suspicious. How can they not know what happened to their baby? I really hope the child will be found safe not dead and decomposed like Caylee Anthony was.

Just like a pill

Actual update coming soon... PROMISE!! So much has happened since Alumni Weekend :)

Today's WB unplugged question was If You had a disability and were offered a magic pill to cure it would you take it? Why or why not?

If such a pill existed there would be a very low likely hood that I would take it. I have a couple of different disabilities. Cerebal Palsy, a non verbal learning disorder on the Asbergers spectrum and Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) I was diagnosed with CVI a the end of the summer and that diagnosis was really opening for me because it helped me to realize why I have struggled so much with certain things over the years. I guess if there was a magic pill to cure that then I would take it because I hate not being able to drive or maybe to help me fare better in certain social situations.. Other than that I am pretty happy with my life and would not change a thing about it.

Thought For The Day- Change of Atmosphere

Last night Matt Sonya and I went to celebrate Sonya getting cast into to the holiday play at the Amato Center. As per natural we did our usual karaoke outing but instead of going to Grand Buffet as we typically would we went to 5 Dragons Lounge in Downtown Nashua. This is an assuming karaoke bar in the back room of a Chinese resturant. I wasn't too impressed with the turn out but it was still a good time. I sometimes wonde if karaoke is really that popular in this area. It didn't last long at Fridays because of low turn out and the dj having a disagreement with the management. Grand Buffett definitley attracts bigger crowd but I figured we would try a new place this time around. I sang Crocodile Rock by Elton John (which I did better on the last time I sang it at Grand Buffett) and Faded Love by Patsy Cline which I did realively well with. One of the next times I go to karaoke I will have to have Matt or Sonya video tape me and then I will post the vdeo here. In general I am kind of starting to get bored with going to karaoke which why I am glad we are trying to mix up our Saturday night schedule a little bit.

Thought for The Day- On Skepticism

Thursday was International Skeptics Day I guess every group of people needs a holiday of their own. I find myself not to be skeptical of a whole lot of things. The irony of this topic came into play on Thursday because at work there was a woman who wrote a book about Haunteed Hikes in New Hampshire. I found the talk to be very intriguing. I have never believed in ghosts or anything of a supernatural nature.

One thing I am skeptical of is religion. I believe in God most definitley and pray as often as possible. I am have been skeptical of the Catholic Church ever since the 2005 sex abuse scandel and have considered a couple of times changing my religion. I am not sure if I am actually going to go through with changing my religion. One goal I am making for myself is to go to church more often. Right now I don't go as often as I should and I regret that. I am skeptical of the Wiccan religion. I have two friends who are in that religion and I don't have a very deep understanding of their religious practices which I suppose this is why I am skeptical. I am also skeptical of Scientology.

I have also been skeptical of the Tea Party since I first heard of the political party. I don't think that policical party is even really necessary. Having two politcial parties is good enough for me. On that subject I am skeptical of how the primary elections will turn out and am interested to see who will end up being able to have a strong race against Obama. If I was Republican I would lean toward voting for Mitt Romney or Herman Cain. I am rooting for Obama to get a second term though because I don't think the people of America are giving him a fair enough chance. It's not his fault our country is in the mess it's in. It's President Bush's. It will take him awhile to pick up the pieces which is why he deserves a second term.

I am skeptical of the XFactor. I have watched it twice so far this season and can't make heads or tails on if I want to continue to watch it. I am honestly not sure how it will match up with other realtiy Talent shows like American Idol, America's Got Talent and The Sing Off.

Teachable Moment (not for me)

This is one of those entries where I omit names.
(this will get transferred into Twitter.. if other people ask who  I am talking about names will not be revealed because at that this point the situation has been resolved.)
Three close friends of mine from NEC were involved in a somewhat difficult and tedious love triangle. My mistake was offering advice because it made the situation worse. This whole situation has led to a huge misunderstanding that has been blown out of proportion and I have a feeling that it is going to end up leading to the person who is in the center of the love triangle getting hurt.
I have used my situation with my obssesiveness with Will Porter as a teaching tool in this situation I think it will really do a huge benefit to the person in the center of the love triangle. Looking back on that whole situation I see a lot of similarities between the person who the person who the person in the center of the love triangle likes and Will Porter (not to say that this person and  Will  Porter are the same but the situation at hand is the same). I am really hoping that these three are able to quickly reemedy the situation because things could get ugly really fast if a solution is not found. Much like what could have happened if I had continued to bother Will He could have easily have brought a restraining order against me if I had continued to constantly email him.. I was incredibly lucky that he didn't.

At last check things seem to   back to normal between them so I am relieved! :)

He said that my passion for theatre is inspirational to his daughter. So glad I could ve inspirational to someone else who has CP. :)

RIP Steve Jobs

Jobs Remembered For Ability To Innovate - Technology News Story - WMUR New Hampshire

Approriately today's Livejournal Writer's Block questions is how did Steve Jobs impact your life? Here are my thoughts

I would say Steve Jobs has certainly affected the way we all communicate strongly. Between Mac Books, Iphones and I Pods, and IPADS. The one gripe I have is that I think it's a rip off that you now have to pay $1.29 for songs on itunes. The best invention Steve Jobs created is probably the ipod. It makes keeping track of your music so much easier and organized than having a whole bunch of CDS all over the place. I have yet to get an IPhone or an IPad. Come to think of it my phone does need an upgrade. Perhaps I will ask for that for Christmas this year.

Thank you Steve Jobs for the huge legacy you have left behind. You will be missed.

Rain Rain Go Away

Greetings all-
It's been awhile since I have posted a legit update. I have posted mini musings but really nothing substantial here we go.

Yesterday Matt and I went up to Henniker for Alumni Weekend. I really wish the weather had been a lot nicer. Watching a soccer game in the rain was definitley not desirable. It was great to see Cooper and Jon again but were found ourselves wishing more of friends had been there. Hopefully next years turnout will be better all around. The day was decent overall despite the wrather. I went to a 40th anniversrary celebration for the literary magazine I was on. It was great to see people I worked with and meet some of the current staff members. The weather cleared up by 4:30 so we watched a half hour of the field hockey game before dinner. It was Matt's 5 yr reunion and that didn't really have a huge turn out either. We then went rollerskating. Please note I have not been rollerskating since I was 11 so I really out of practice. I had fun until I fell and hurt my shoulder. Thankfully it's not broken only slighlty bruised.
September went by quickly to say the least. I have been having issues with one of my frineds lately and I am not really willing to go into the details on this blog. Hopefully we will be able to work things out but if not I feel it is best to move on and go in different directions. On Sept 20th we had a Women's Group meeting. I am really liking the new friendships I am forming with the people from my Women's Group. We have a lot rd of good coversations at the meetings and a lot of fun when we get together. On the 23rd we had a movie night at Julie's where we watched Sherlock Holmes which was really good. I am excited to see the sequel when it comes out in December. Last Tuesday Julie and I went to see Contagin at the IMax Theatre in Hooksett. That was an experience. The movie was definitley not one of my favorites and I found it very hard to follow at certain points. Matt Damon is definitley good eye candy.

My best friend Alli from NEC is hoping to get a job in Boston. I am hoping that she gets the job. She lives in Arizona now and she always says she wants to be closer to all our NEC friends. So many great memories to be made if this happens.

Time to work on Milforf Cabinet and Nashua Telegraph articles.

Reports: Francona Out As Red Sox Manager - Sports News Story - WMUR New Hampshire

Reports: Francona Out As Red Sox Manager - Sports News Story - WMUR New Hampshire

This is a huge mistake on behalf of the Red Sox Management. Sure they had a rough stretch at the end of this sason but that doesn't mean they can't improve next year. The news that Big Papi might become a free agent is depressing too, He has been my favorite player for several years.

Thought For The Day - Soical Networking

Today's Livejouranl Wirter's Block UnPlugged Question is all about Social Networking

I have been all over the social networking spectrum since 2003 when I started my first online diary. With the times I've grown and matured. I've learned what to use a filter of what I say online so I do not hurt people's feelings. Social Networking certainly has its pros and cons. With time and maturity I've outgrown certain sites such as livejournal and myspace. I feel that sometimes people hide behind monikers on social networking sites so they can say mean and hurtful things to people. That is not right and think that is a huge thing that attributes to bullying. At this point in my life I am using social networking sites for professional reasons as I look to expand my freelance writing career. Facebook is becoming less and less user friendly and appealing because all of the recent interface changes and it makes me want to use the website less and less.

:/

At this point it is best to let the whole issue with Bobby Matoney emailing me about that video on youtube go. The issue was dealt with and was really out of my control. It really would be nice to know why the question was directed at me in the first place. Too bad I'll never know the answer to that question.

If apathy or resentment exists from anyonre in my intern company regarding how I reacted to stuff about the Barn I suppose I will have to deal with that too.. and move on.

If is the operative word here. I haven't really kept in good contact with everyone from my intern company so I really don't know if there is any resentment or apathy and if so how much there is. And if apathy in fact does exist I wonder if it can be put aside to start over with people fresh or have bridges been burned already?

Thought For The Day- If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It

Facebook is at it again. Once again their layout has changed. I wonder why the developers think thay are making it more userfriendly. In my honset opinion they current changed kind of make facebook creepy... and it wasn't really creepy before. I think the more they continue to make changes to it it will just continue to lose users.

Facebook is honestly coming really close to losing my usage at this point. At this stage in the game I would rather perfer to use regular email and instant messanger to keep in contact with people. Additionally I feel linked in is a more professional site for me to be using so I may stick with using that from now on.

Thought For The Day- Setting The Bar Too High

Sonya and I were both considering auditioning for Interlakes Summer Theatre for the summer 2012 Season. I didn't think at the time we were talking about it how unrealistic I was being. Obviosuly since I ingiworked at the Barn Playhouse four years ago I wanted to get back into Summer Stock. Once I reconsidered that I realized that most summer stock theatres IST included look for professional actors with extensive resumes. Is my resume extensive? Not at all. The amount of backstage work and publicity work I've done in the past four years has grown but not so much the acting end of the resume. There's a part of my high school mission statement which states to not be afraid to push your comfortable limits. I was trying to follow that standard but in trying to follow that standard I was not realizing that there are certain boundaries I can't push. I have been insecure about my singing voice ever since high school and honestly that insecurity hasn't really left me. The talent among the people who have worked for Nancy in the past four years has been impressive. This includes my friends from NLBP who have worked for her. Also because of my disabillities I am not exactly the best dancer so that would be one thing that needs to be improved over time.

Summer Stock theatre may not be an option for me at this point but auditioning for a summer stock theatre may be something I can eventually work toward. I just need more stage credits first. That's where auditioning for shows around this area comes in. Building up my resume is key!

Thoight for The Day- On Passages of Time

This is the second entry titled passages of time. That entry was short and reflected on the Souhegan Graduation that was upcoming and how my 10 year reunion willl be coming up n three years

This passages of time reflection is far more deeper than that. It focusses on the drifiting of relationships how people come and go in our life.

Over the course of my life I've met lots of people... I've had a few close friends and a smattering of acquauntances. In some respects transiioning away from certain groups and into others wasn't tthe eaisest thing for me ( ie high school ~< college, falling out with Will Porter) eventually I learned to take things in stride. The falling out with Will Porter took some time to take in stride but I got there eventually. I honestly thing the biggest issue I had in that was accepting the fact that we was moving on with his life after the Barn Playhouse. Looking back on everything related to my isssues with moving on from the Barn I realize that hanging on to the past was the biggest issue. Once I came to terms with that I realized that I just needed to grow up and move on with my life. No one from my intern company hates me and even if they did I should not let it bother me too much. I realized over these past four year that internalizing negative feelings was what the issue really was nd that drove me and others crazy.

In the past year two friendships have drifted apart. Each for their own individual reasons. While I was friends with each of these peoople for a long time I felt it was best to move on. If we shall ever cross paths again I hope things will not be too uncomfortable between us. I don't hold gudges. Details of each situation are to be kept under wraps between myself and the other party.

Time to let go of the past while not forgetting memories and embrace the future and new memories that will be made!
