Looking Back

Looking back over 2010 I realize I have a lot to be thankful for and very limited regrets. I try to live each day with as little regrets as possible... I do have one regret however. And it's more of a long term regret not a regret that simply focusses on this year and of course it relates to my NLBP Depression.I look back on everything related to my depression every day and realize I am a stronger person for having gone through the situation. No matter the length of time it took me to get over it. The regret I have is most related to the issue I had with letting go. I know that people have their issues with moving on from things that happen to them. Looking back on my depression I realize things would have been a lot better if I had just left the Barn in the past instead of letting things fester. It's not so much thinking the people from my intern company hated me but when Maggie Politi emailed my mom in March (which led me to go back to counseling for three months). I realized that obviously they still liked me. I hope Maggie realizes how much I appreciate the fact that she did that. Had I let go of stuff related to the Barn sooner I think it would have been easier for me to keep things going with everyone as far as keeping in touch with people. I also hated myself for messing things up with Will Porter for the longest time but maybe things would have been a lot better if I hadn't reacted to things so strongly when we fell out of touch. Looking back on all that I realized I made a big deal out of nothing.. thinking he hated me and that he was going to get a restraining order against me when that was never the case. I was told numerous times that no one talks to him anymore and I had issues with realzing that paths away from the Barn have led people to seperate places and new adventures. My main hope is that he knows I'm doing better now because he was one of the first peson to pick up on my depression (when we were going through the falling out) I sometimes wonder if I had never been so emotionally attached to the Barn after I left if things wouldn't have been easier for me? Following through better with the advice I was given while I was going to counseling at NEC probably would have been helpful so I wouldn't have had to go back to counseling three years later. If I had forgiven all my demons sooner I think it would have easier for to move on and not drive other people so crazy. So yes that's my only regret. I have no others;.Happy New Year Everyone. As far as resolutions for 2011 go I don't have very many as of right now... I only hope to build on the success of last year's resolutions the only year in many that I have successfullly kept up with all my resolutions. Here are some predictions for 20111. Championships for all Boston Sports Teams
2. Syracuse will win March Madness
3. Rae will visit sometime this summer
4. I will complete my poetry anthology
5. I willl get a job after Project Search is over and move to Nashua
6. Go to Harry Potter Theme Park at Universal Studio
7. Go to New Orleans
8. Save enough money to move in together with Matt by fall of 2012

Holiday Happenings Part 2 of 2 Parties and Presents

Dec 23rd 11:41am
Lots of holiday parties to talk about in this entry...Decemeber 9th was the staff Christmas party for everyone at the hospital. I believe I mentioned this in my last entry. Lots of food not enough seatingOn the 14th I had a Christmas Party with my women's group. A new girl joined the group. Her name is Julie and shes' from Amherst. Score! Now I have someone I can carpool to the meetings with. We had a few snacks and then did a yankee swap. I first got a notepad but then I traded it for some Lindt Truffles. I have accumulated a lot of candy in the past week and I have no idea how I am going to eat all of it since I am starting to get more hardcore about my diet once the Christmas season is over. That day was also the Christmas Party for my deparment. We had a luncheon and there was a ton of food..so good. I can't go into how much food was there.Thursday the 16th Matt and I were supposed to go see A Christmas Carol at Peacock Players. As it turns out they didn't have a Thursday night show so we ended up going bowling at out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. As it turned out Rosemary Wojtas was our waitress. It was so great to see her again I had not seen her since high school. She's a year younger than me and we were in Choir together. I got Chicken Pasta which was great,.... though a tad fillingSunday was my family Christmas party in Boston Mass. It is one of the two times out of the year (the other being the 4th of July) that we get to see my mom's exteneded family. Craziness, Another not so good day for my diet,Wednesday all the Project Search interns went to our jobs an hour later than usual because we helped out with a Community Service Project that the whole hospital takes part in called The Christmas Basket Project. We helped put together bags of food for needy familes in the Nashua area. It felt great to be able to give back. Yesterday the job trainers and our teacher Margaret thre everyone in Project Search a Christmas party. We had a nice lunch Salad, Mac and Cheese and meatball subs. ( I chose not to have a sub) We played Bingo and Hot Portato and then decorated Christmas Cookies. To round out the party we traded Secret Santa gifts. I will be posting a whole list of gifts when I update either tomorrow or Sunday recapping events of this evening and Christmas Day Festivities.

Today

Happy Day after Christmas!I've been sick with a nasty cold since Wednesday which to my diasppointment didn't go away before Christmas. BLAH! I hafe being sick on the holidays. Thursday night we went to Everett for Christmas Eve Dinner at my grandparent's house which my uncle Steven and Aunt Sue prepared. Meal of 7 Fishes is always so good. Becaise of my diet I had to cu back on portion sizes but I was still full enough atter the meal. My cousins and I switchd back and forth between watching Grease and A Christmas Story on TV. Then my uncle suprised us with free stuff he got from NIKE. I got new workout clothes for the gym which I can't wait to wear. Yesterday Christmas day was pretty low key/ We slept in til 9:30 and then openend presents Here is my recap~ SEASON 1 OF GLEE ON DVD~ A travel pillow~A new wallet~A new calenedar book for my desk~A new overnight bag~ Sex and The City 2 DVD~Clothes~Money~A Nook Color (which is pretty cool)~ Candy from gift swap at Women's grouo meeting, ny depeartmet and Secret Santa~ A locket from my secret Santa at work~ Change of Heart by Jodi Piccout ( from my department at work.. whicn I later discoverd my mom already had)~ A new journal ( from my department at work)
~$10 Walmart Gift Card (from Heather)
~ Gift Certificate to the movies~ 2 $15 itunes gift cards (1 from my aunt and one from Matt's mom. Hopefully I can get the itunes store to work so I can actually buy music.)
After opening presents we had waffles for breakfast then watched videos of past Christmasses. It's amazing to see how people have grown and changed over the years/ I called Rae to wish her a Merry Xmas and it was so great to talk to her. She was also sick so it was good to have that in common. Hope you feel better soon my dear. I am crossing my fingers that we work out our plans to get togehter this summer.:P) We got on the road a little late to head to my Aunt Joan's house in Burlington MASS for dinner. Nice relaxing dinner. It's so good to catch up with everyone. I especially found my cousin Andrew's experence at Semester at Sea to be interesting. I had to forfeit from playing Spoons this year because I was sick and was worried about spreading my germs to everyone else. Next year I will be back in action though and hopefully I won't get eliminated in the first round like I typically do.I have been having issues with getting along with one of my friends lately (outlined in the entry ARGH which Moriah Kristen and Rae need to read at some point) I totally forgot about the issues we're having with being so wrapped up in the Christmas spirt. Hopefully she comes around and sees that she needs to start respecting me better. If she doesn't then I am not sure if I can still remain friends with her.My week this week is not very excitign so I probably won't update til next week in which I will talk about the wedding. :)

In full swing

Two weeks of the second rotation are in the bag. Lots of new experiences. I am now working in the Cardio Vascular Rehab Center as an office adminstrative assitant. It was a realtively easy transistion because I remembered a lot of things from when I shadowed during the interview process. The people at the Cardiovacular Center are really helpful in helping me learn the ropes of the deparment. I am hoping to get more interaction with the patients then I did at the Oncology Center. My tasks include making copies, assembling packets, taking papers to medical records and data entry. I also help out with keeping the office looking tidy by watering the plants and disinfecting the heart monitors. It's a very interesting experience so far. I am learning a lot and hope to learn more as the second rotation goes along.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Holiday Happenings Part 1 of 2

Since quite a lot has happened since Thanksgiving I figured I would do the 1st part of my holiday update now and then the rest of it will come later. We'll start with Thanksgiving. I slept in a little bit and then my grandparents and Aunt Sue and UncleSteve came over for dinner. We watched the Patrioots and then had dinner. My sister's boyfriend Justin and his family came over for dessert and it was great to see them. I was stuffed. Friday I just relaxed. Saturday I went to the holiday stroll in Nashua with Sonya and Caroline. It was fun but way too crowded for my liking.. last year I don't remember it being quite so crowded. We went out to dinner at Cafe Europa which was delicous. I was still pretty sutffed from Thanksgiving dinner two days before so I just had a sandwhich with a side salad. Sunday I went to the movies with Momca Boore and we saw Burluesque. One of the best movies I've seen this year.. I highly reccommend it to you guys. After I got home from the movies Matt and I went to mall to go Christmas shopping... very successful trip.. got all my shopping done in one store... Target. We then met Sonya Heather and her friend Charlene for dinner. I met Heather's godson Damien who was born a few months ago... such a cute baby! Last weekend I went to Maine to spend the weekend at Matt's house. We went to the Christmas stroll in Kennebunk which was fun we then went out for dinner at Mama Rosalinda's in Saco which is a nice italian resturant down the street from Cinemagic. We then went to the movies and saw Tangled another highyl reccommendable movie. Yesterday we had a holiday reception at work and it was crazy how much food they had. Chicken finges, salad, cheese and crackerrs, furit salad meatballs so much to choose ffrom It was pretty crowded in the Carl Amerlio room too. Tomorrow I am decorating my tree and then I am having a Chrisstmas Party at with Matt Sonya and Heather. Some other people might come over... i'm still waiting for some last minute rsvps. Tonight I am going to the Boys and Girls Club with my mom to see Miracle onf 34th St. Sunday is the Ameherst Tree lighting unfortuantely there is rain in the forecast so I am hoping it ends up being sunny because I don't feel like standing in the rain to see the Christmas tree being lit

Part 3: The result

After much anxious waiting the results of the job placements for the second rotation have been announced. I was actually the first to find out but I decided to be fair to the rest of my co workers and wait to post the results on here until today. I got my first choice of the Cardiovascular Center. I start Monday and I am wicked excited.

LJ Question of The Day:Winter Holidays

I love Christmas even though it may be a tad bit overcommercialized. When I was younger I was more into getting presents but now that I'm older I see it more as a time to spend quality time with family and friends. Christmas traditions include going to the Christmas Tree Lighting in Amherst (which we're doing for the first time in 5 years) , having Christmas Eve Dinner at one on aunt's houses in Massachettts (mom's side) and having dinner at my aunt's house in Burlington Mass (dad's side of the family) in which my cousins and i always play spoons which can turn into a quite compettive card game ( which I always lose) My mom's extended family also has a family reunion where we get together at a resturant in Boston and have dinner. As far as my friends go we have gone to the Nashua Holiday Stroll two days in a row and also the Milford Holiday Stroll. We also go see a holiday play. Last year we saw Judy's Scary Christmas put on by MAD CO (Music and Drama Company of Londonderry which is now defucnt) This year Matt is taking me to see Christmas Carol at Peacock Players. I am also going to see Miracle on 34th Street at Milford Area Players with my mom next Friday as part of my Christmas present to her.

As far as New Years Eve the last big celebration my family had was in 2000 for the new millenium since then New Years Eve has been really low key. Last year Soyna Matt and I went to Peacock Players to see Night of A Thousand Stars which was fun.. they had light refreshments dancing and and a chamapange toast after the play. This year I am not sure what I am doing for New Years Eve yet... on New Years day I wil be going to Maine for Matt's mother's wedding which I am really excited about.

Part One of Holiday Events Update to come on the 11th
