Hello Everyone
I've been working through a lot of personal issues with regards to stuff related to the Barn Playhouse and worrying about being forgotten about by the people I worked with there and I made the wise choice to not make a big deal about that kind of stuff in an internet journal so that explains my lack of updating this lovely blog. I do however apologize for the long distance between entries.. seeing how the last time I wrote in here was in March and it is now October. Much has happened since March.. hopefully it doesn't take more than one entry to provide you with a full update what is going on with me.
First of all.. the last entry was dated March 4th and the last thing I talked about was my spring break trip to New York that seems like eons ago.....seriously does but it was the best time ever. I went with two of my best friends Cooper and Heather as a present for my college graduation. It was a total blast. We did a lot of shopping and sightseeing, met up with a few of my Barn Playhouse coworkers for dinner at Tony Dinapoli's which is very delicious and of course saw the broadway play RENT which was absolutley phenomninal. That's a play i would defintley see over and over again and not get sick of it.
School was school... the academic part of it seemed to drag on and on forever after spring break. The play I did crew for was abosultely amazing. It was a great way to go out of doing shows with the NEC Theatre Department with a bang. Graduation was a crazy day for sure. It feels weird to be totally done with NEC and not taking classes there anymore but i'm gonna try to go visit there as much as I possibly can.. going up there next week actually to go see the CTE production of Kennedy's Children which Emma Laing is directing. The first couple weeks of summer were crazy with looking for a job but i was busy in between with hanging out with friends.. seeing Carosuel at Lakes Region Summer Theatre in Meredith with my boyfriend Matt... we're not dating anymore but we're still really good friends. I went to Italy on vacation with my family for two weeks at the beginning of August.. that was the most absoulute best time ever and I want to go back. I then started my job at a cusomer service call center in Manchester which I just got laid off from a few weeks ago. Now it is back to the job search. I am trying to stay as positive as I can but with the way the economy is it's kind of hard to stay postive. I hgave been applying to local elementary schools as a paraprofessional education teacher's aide so I hope one of those jobs will end up panning out. I got a freelance journalism job at the Milford Cabinet so there's a bright spot so that way I can keep up with my writing since my goal with in the next year is to move to Portsmouth to get a job as theatre reviewer for a newspaper out there.
I hope to make more active use of this blog since I will be using livejournal and my blog on myspace a whole lot less.
Love
Janine

So ready!!
I am so ready for spring break! It's barely even funny at all right now how ready I feel. The first half of the semester has been painfully long and stressful. I still go through spasms when I miss Will but not as often as I used to. I have been kind of depressed because I have been not getting along with my roommate and she has not been treating me very kindly and respectfully. I thought we were getting along better for about a week but then things went into a downward spiral again. I made the ulitmate decision to move out because I want to be in situation where I feel comfortable with the person I am living with. This whole situation with my roommate has been kind of distracting me from my homework too.... I still get stuff done but it just takes me a while to get focussed on it because so much has been on my mind.
I feel like the Barn reunion in New York was a total waste of time to plan. Hardly anyone is coming to it. It was a nice thought.. but some things are better in theroy than in practice. Regardless of the Barn reunion happening or not I am still super excited about going to New York espacially seeing Rent on Sunday. I am so in love with that sound track its not even funny... Little Shop of Horrors is my second addictive soundtrack followed by Annie Get Your Gun.
My classes have been decent this semester.. though the workload tends to kill me sometimes. Dramatic Criticism is my favorite class by far!
The second of the semester looks a lot brighter. I'll be moving in with my friend Tamika and doing tech work for my school's mainstage production of Fuiddy Meers by David Lindsay Abaire. Then I graduate and the next part of my life starts

Discontent in the heart of New England Winter
Well at least I can finally say that I'm over everything that happened with Will last semester.. let's just say I've got far bigger problems on my plate to deal with.. that situation seems almost miniscule in comparison.
I haven't really been getting along very well with my roommate at all since I've gotten back to school. I have been trying to reconcile with her but nothing has been working. I perfer not to go into too much detail but let's just say my rooming situation has not been making me very happy. I am going to be moving out and in with my friend Tamika with in the next week. I just don't need to deal with any unnecssary drama like I have been for the past two weeks. I need to focus on graduating and getting out of this school. Not to say that I don't like it or that I haven't liked it here.. i've liked it here very much and i am going to miss all my friends when I leave but I could dealt with out drama for the past couple years.
Aside from that things have been going well. I have a workstudy job as a conseulor for English as A Second Language students which starts on Monday. Basically I meet with two interenational students twice a week and have lunch with them and immerse them in the culture of NEC. Dramatic Cricisim is my favorite class this semester ... hands down! Last week we went the Missionary Position at the Merrimack Repratory Theatre where a theatre alumni from my college works. We got to have a tour of theatre which was pretty neat. I am not sure how I feel about the play yet. The main theme of the show was politics and I am not really that big into politics at all.. so that review should be interesting to write. My other classes have been going fairly decently.
I am looking so foward to spring break in New York. I am trying to plan a Barn Playhouse reunion so I can see some of the people that I worked with last summer and see what they've been up to since we left New London in August. Don't know how well that's going to end up working out though. We're also going to be meeting my friend Jasmine for dinner which i am super excited about. She graduated last year and i miss her a lot. YAY!! I am also getting excited to start tech work on Fuddy Meers my theatre department's spring mainstage production. That play is going to be really funny to work on and I love the people in the cast... most of whom i've worked with on other shows but a few who i haven't yet/ I am getting really sad because this is going to be the last show i am doing tech work on at NEC. I am going to miss everyone who I've worked on shows with here when I graduate. We've had so much fun together *tear*

Living the busy life
Last semester of senior year is off to a stellar start despite the initial difficulty I am having with letting go of my falliing out with Will Porter. my coworker from the Barn Playhouse.
This semester is going to be hectic in all senses of the word between academics and being in/doing tech work for the Mainstage theatre production of Fuddy Meers by David Lindsay-Abaire. Auditions were on Tuesday night and went much better than I expected them to go. I find out if I get in tomorrow so wish me luck. My course schedule this semester is not as challenging as last semester was...or at least not yet *knock on wood* My top two favorite classes are Short Story Workshop and Dramatic Criticisim... hands down. Last week for Dramatic Crit we went on a field trip to the Portland Stage Company in Portland Maine to go see a production of Fully Committed by Becky Mode. The play was absoulutley hillarious and I really enjoyed it. I have to write a review for class and I will post that in here when I get the time to. The other classes I am taking are Gender and Power Roles in Media, Persuasion and Propaganda and another one credit career development course which will help me with resume writing (though i already have a pretty decent resume) cover letter writing ( I got a book for christmas that helps me out with that a little bit too) and preparing for job interviews.
Finalizations for my spring break trip to New York are in the works and i am getting so excited. . I am hoping to see Rent.. i have been dying to see that show for a very long time i am so in love with the soundtrack (minus the song Over The Moon which I absolutley can not stand)
So over all i think my last semeter at NEC should be a good one.
Peace Love Life

Back in Business!
Back at school!!! :) Finally. Spring semester of senior year. I am going to so overwhelmingly busy this semester it's not even funny.
Academics
Well finally a seemingly less stressful semester than the previous couple of semesters.. althought it's only the second day of classes. I am excited about Dramatic Critcism. I think I am going to love that class so much. Friday we are going on a field trip to go to Portland Maine to go see Fully Committed by Becky Mode. I remember when Nate Atkinson did that as a one man show for his senior project. Gender and Power Roles in Media seems really interesting. I think there are going to be a lot of interesting discussions in that class. Persuasion in Propganda should be the most worthwhile class because I am considering to a job in Public Relations for after I graduate so I think what I am going to take away from that class is the tactics I am going to need to persuade to people to go to the event that I am advertising or whatever. Short Story Workshop should be interesting. Writing short stories is not exactly my strength but that's where I can improve. I am also taking another carreer devlopment class that meets on one weekend in February. Time Management has to be on my side this semester so I am not under so much stress.
Extracurriculars
This semester i am going to be pretty much calling the theatre my second home when i am not in the library doing hours and hours of homework. Auditions are next week and for the first time since frehsmen I am not really that nervous about them more excited. I am auditioning for the Mainstage show Fuddy Meers which is going to be an interesting play. If I don't get cast I am going to do stage crew..most likely props. I am also going to be helping out with editing the Henniker Review. I hope my stuff gets published this semester that would be a nice way to end off my senior year.
That is basically my life in a nutshell this semester. Wish me luck with auditions!

When it comes down to it...
I need to stop living in the past so much and focus on the present. That has been a big part of my problem for a very long time. When you look at my facebook friends list you'll see that it's full of people from high school (other than my close friends of course ) that I haven't talked too since I graduated...people I worked with at Camp Allen 3 summers ago that I haven't talked too or have talked to sporadically since I stopped workig there (mostly Nick and Laura on ocassion) and various other people. I have had a sonewhat hard time letting go of the past and that has been shown more so lately with being afraid of letting go of the people I worked with at the Barn Playhouse this summer (even though that is mostly relevant to Will Porter who i've been kind of fighting with since the end of summer and now we're not speaking). As I said it's time to focus on the present and not the past... last semester I found myself in a fog most of the time because when I wasn't focussed on homework I was focussed on my fight with Will and how I felt I had messed things up between us... maybe that was all in my head ... possibly not but he's moved on and that gives me the indication that I probably should too.
so forget about the past... on to the present
As per natrual break has been boring. That's what I hate about Amherst there is nothing to do. Most of the time I have been catching up with old high school friends and beginning my search for jobs for after I graduate. Here's what i've been up to since I've gotten home from school
On December 22nd I went to a bonfire at my friend Kristen's house. It was awesome because I saw a ton of friends from high school that I had not seen since I gradauted or since they graduated since a majority of the people there were either in the year ahead of me or two years ahead of me.
Christmas and New Years was spent with family. Mom's side for christmas eve at my house. Meal of 7 fishes= delicious as always. Christmas Day was with my dad's side at my aunt Joan's house in Burlington which natually included an intense game of Spoons.. the top rated group card game other than Mafia. A couple days after Christmas I went to see two awesome movies Natuarl Treasure Book of Secerts with Thomas Rossi and Sweeney Todd with Heather and Autumn. Sweeney Todd was amazing! I was surprised by the fact that Johnny Depp could actaully sing. I highly reccomend both movies if you are looking to go to the theatres to go see a movie. New Years I went to a bonfire at my mom's friends house which was fun.
After the holidays have been somewhat uneventful. I went to work for my dad for a couple days at his yard equipment rental office in Milford. I also took a day trip into Portsmouth on Sunday with my parents and Heather to get a feel of the town. I absolutley positiviely love it there and hope to move there eventually after I graduate. Goodbye Amherst!!!
School starts again soon and I can't wait to go back. This semester is going to be incredibly busy for me. I have a full course load 5 classes but most of them are electives which is good.. my brain can relax from doing strenous work for graduation requirements for my major. I am looking most foward to my Dramtic Critcism class. I mean obviously who wouldn't love a class where you go watch plays and write reviews about them? :) I am also looking extremely foward to the play i am going to be in this semester, going to New York over spring break and my suprise act that i'm organizing for a talent show that my theatre department puts on at the end of April.
Updating this blog this semester will be quite sporadic but i will try to update it as much as I possibly can.

Starting over brand new
2008 has arrived! 2007 was a whirlwind of a year that's for sure. I was one so many emotional rolllercoasters it isn't even funny. Especially last semester because of my fight with Will. I've realized all of my errors with that... I may not be able to go back and change them but what I can do is learn from the mistakes I made throughout the course of time we've been fighting and not repeat them in the future. A trend that i've had issues with outgrowing is that I cling on too much to people... that has been a problem of mine since the end of 8th grade. The same thing happened in the situation with Will and if I had selectively chosen to change the way that I acted things would be different now (hence we'd be talking to each other) Hopefully we'll be friends in the future. Who knows what could end up happening.
This is a definining year for me. So many things I can see are going to change. I am graduating from colllege on May 10th. That's gonna hit me like a ton of bricks. Once I walk across that stage and recieve my degree in commuincations school will be over FOREVER!!! Grad school isn't in my cards yet i'm not sure if it's ever going to be. The key thing for me to do this semester is to live every moment of the semester for what it's worth and enjoy spending time with my friends. I have been doing research for jobs and I have decided what I am going to do.
Live at home for a year and work in the area then eventually move to Portsmouth and get an apartment with my best friend from high school Heather. I am considering working for a newspaper or a magazine because writing has always been a passion of mine. As has technical theatre. Working at the New London Barn Playhouse this summer opened my eyes to doing Public Relations work for a theatre. I enjoyed each aspect of the internship thoroughly the PR work, the tech work, acting in two shows with some amazingly talented actors and actresses who are clearly going to go places... I can honestly picture some of them being on Broadway someday and assitant directing a children's theatre play based on one of my mother's children's book. I've had a bit of a hard time moving on from the Barn Playhouse because I've been kind of worried that I'm going to forget the memories I had there this summer and that the peoplee I worked with are going to forget about me. Innocent as that sounds I think it kind of sounds childish because memories will always live on and if I ever happen to cross paths with anyone I worked this summer then we'll always have those memories to remnicise on and laugh about. WHIP IT GOOD!! :)
So this break will be mostly filled with catching up with high school friends and doing research about jobs. When I get back to school I am going to have almost no social life at all. It will be good to be busy because there were sometimes where I felt like I slacked off a lot.. and my grades somewhat reflected that. I will be busy with classes homework and being in a play at school. More details on what show to follow later I am so excited about being in my first show at NEC it should be a blast!
Peace Out! It may be a long time before I update again just to warn those who actually read this
Sweet Janine
PS if you are looking to see a good movie I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Sweeney Todd

I will be busy with classes homework and being in a play at school. More details on what show to follow later I am so excited about being in my first show at NEC it should be a blast!
Peace Out! It may be a long time before I update again just to warn those who actually read this
Sweet Janine
PS if you are looking to see a good movie I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND Sweeney Todd
