So my junior year of college is rounding into its second semester. I am in awe at how fast everything has passed by. Before we know it it will be the end of another school year and graduation will be upon us. I have a ton of friends who are graduating this year and i'm going to miss them a ton when they leave.. that's why it's important to make this semester count as far as hanging out with them goes *nudges certian people... they should know who they are* Time seems to fly by pretty fast. It seems like just yesterday I was a freshmen looking to find my place in the college world. Now I found my niche. I have kept in groove with what i love to do (theatre and poetry) while at the same time being willing to open my world to new and exciting things (such as playing volleyball)
It is quite daunting to me that I will be a senior next year. It's daunting because I honestly have no idea what I intend to do with my major after I graduate. I mean I love to write poetry but I don't think I can really make much of a living off of that. I have found that I really enjoy writing for the school newspaper. I write articles about the theatre shows and next semester I am going to be theatre editor. I am very excited about that. Over the summer I had an internship with the Milford Cabinet and I really had a lot of fun doing that as well. I found it very interesting to see what goes on behind the scences of an actual newspaper and going on assignment with the various reporters was fun. For this summer I am planning on applying for an internship @ WMUR. I think it would be neat to see what goes on behind the scenes of a tv news room. I also really like theatre stuff so I could see myself doing public relations stuff for a local theatre company somewhere down the the line. There are so many options. It's mindboggling really.
Once I graduate I definitley plan on moving out of Amherst. New York seems like too big of a place. I'd like to maybe live in Concord, Boston or Manchester. Amherst is boring and there is nothing to do when you think of the job market.. except maybe work at Souhegan as a journalism teacher. We'll have to see where my path away from NEC leads me once I graduate next year.
This blog is for general ranting and stuff that goes on my every day life in work and relationships. Stuff that is incredibly personal will not be posted on this blog. For all theatre related commentary please go to my Theatre is My Life blog.

Finals Stress Fall Semester 06
Finals are going to kill me if they haven't started to already. Let's recap all the work i have to do in the next couple weeks:
Interpersonal Communications: 7-10 final paper on Family Interaction Patterns (bascially expanding on thoughts from my chapter 10 reaction which I got a 75 on.. best grade i've gotten on any of the reaction papers... including the extra credit assignment for research night )
Creative Writing: Portfolio of all the stories I wrote this semester
NewEnglander: Portfolio of all the articles I wrote this semester and a final article which will go into the first issue for next semester... which naturally previews what shows are going to be put on next semester.
Symbolic Logic: Test!! The only test i have and it's gonna fuckin kill me
Dramatic Theory: Research paper and final paper on my own theroy of comedy and tradegy. That will need a lot of expanding.... even though i haven't even started to write it yet. I can already tell it will need a lot of expanding though...
I am not sure how many sources we need for the dramatic theory research paper. So far I have got four including the textbook but i am not sure if we need more than that. I don' t want to end up having too much information... but then again i do need something to work with and I think I should have enough.

Pre-Fall 06 Finals Stres
So here' s another one of those entries where I focus different sectors of how my life is going. Enjoy and feel enlightned by my varying empotions at the current time
Academics: I am honestly pissed off that they got rid of the midsemeter break. I feel like I have been working non-stop since the beginning of the semester on paper after paper and assigment after assignment. Midsemster break allows for a little relax time so that way you can regenerate your mind and revitialize your spiirt. It's that time of year where the work keeps piling up and piling up. After thanksgiving break we only two weeks of classes left until we have to start preparing for finals that's it just two fucking weeks. As I've previously said some classes this semester have been harder than others but for the most part my schedule is pretty evenly balanced. I learned that you should never schedule six classes in a given semester it's just too much and it leaves you physically and emotionally drained. When I had my surgury at the begining of October I was wicked nervous that I would fall behind on my schoolwork so when I got back I felt the need to push myself to reach a certain level in certain classes so I wouldn't fall too behind. This semester i have done suprisingly a little bit better than last fall with time management stuff but it honestly depends on the class. Right now I think i've reached the point where I am going to into nervous breakdown mode... the stress is beginning to build and build I just wonder when I am going reach the breaking point.
Extracurriculars: I still feel like I'm in way too many clubs... but honestly at this point I don't know what I want to stay in and what I want to quit anymore. I still feel like i'm constantly rushing around to meeting after meeting and feel like I have no time to breathe inbetween. I just don't want to end up sacrafing doing the stufff I love to do because I feel like there's too little time to do important things
Love Life: I broke up with Sean and we are still really good friends. I have a new boyfriend. His name is Gabe. I hope this relationship works out a lot better than the first one.
Friends and Social Life: My friends continue to be amazing and the good time keep rolling on. Not enough random quotes have accumulated in order to generate a list yet.. in fact I don't think there have been any quotable moments so I still have last semester's gems such as " I'm eating cake and my lips are on fire" and I'm your imgination run away with me." My friends have been keeping me sane throughout the insane times and the stressful ones and I truly appreciate them for it. :D I did stage crew for Mr. 80% and that was some awesome times. My theatre friends kick ass. Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams was this weekend and it was amazing. Good job to all my fellow theatre geeks. < 3
4 more days til break I can almost TASTE THE GLORY!! or maybe just the glorious turkey my mom will cook on Thanksgiving :D

Lost In This Masquerade
Basically We;re All In This Together from High School Musical is the best song ever and is my favorite songs at the moment Disney Channel Original Movies with awesome soundtracks= love :)
School is becoming such a drag. My brain is becoming fried and mutilated from all of the homework I have been doing. I'm sure that does not paint a pleasant image and all of your reader's heads. At this point I am practically runnning on empty. I do not know how I manange to stay awake in my classes anymore but amazingly somehow I do. It's ironic because when I was doing crew for mr 80% I felt like I didn't have enough time to balance my homework.. which is why bringing homework with me to do backstage was quite a helpful investment but now that the play that is over I have been having a really hard time focussing on my homework. Probably because my schedule of assignments seems to be becoming quite monotonous papers, papers, more papers, reading for dramatic theory and still more papers. The reaction papers I have to write for interpersonal commuications are really starting to annoy me and drive me nuts. It seems like no matter how many times I reread the chapters the information doesn'tseem to be absorbing very well into my brain and then I have to tie everything we talk about in class into my reaction paper which can be easy or hard depending on the throughness of my notes. I am really worried about passing that class because I didn't do very welll on my midterm and it is crucial that I do well in this class since I need it for my major AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Saturday night was the Masquerade Ball hosted by SOUP. It was the most fun I've had at a dance in a really long time... being single isn't so bad. Lots of good times to be had for sure. Last night was midnight madness which was equally as fun ... quite insane as always. I can't wait for the winter sports season. It's gonna be a good one. :) The Mainstage show Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams goes up this week and I am pumped to go see it it should be awesome.
Course registration for next semester is tonight at 9pm. Here is what I have decided on taking
Video Production
Directing 1
Freedom of Speech
Advanced Public Speaking
Sex and Power Roles in Film
Directed Study (NewEnglander) if it fits
Back Ups : Play Anyalsis; Evoloutin of Folk Rock and Country Music; Sociology Through Film; The Disney Version; Survey of American Literature II
Peace Out
Janine

I'm at work and i am waiting for something to do but my boss stepped out for a second and i'm waiting for him to come back so he can tell me what i need to do today...
and i wonder how many people actually still pay attention to these entries anymore and how worth it is is for me to still update this journal...
(insert comments such as " I still read this journal"... here)
Well anyways Mr 80% went off with out a hitch. I think it was the best play i've worked on so far at NEC other than the Apple Tree. The cast party was on Saturday night at Cynthia's apartment and that was a fun time. Thanks to everyone involved in the show for letting me be part of such an awesome show.. especially Jackie.
I am still hating the insane amounts of homework I have to do. It doesn't seem to be letting up either. The fact that I can't seem to come up with a good schedule it which to do it all in is a pain in the ass. Some assignments are easier to get done than others. NewEnglander for example. I am trying to write an article about the changes to facebook and what people from this school and other schools think about them but i am beginning to wonder if it's even worth to write about that anymore because I don't really know how many people still really care about that on this campus. Oh well at least I have my article on Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams done.. that takes top priority anyway. So that's one of my easier classes. I somehow fell behind in creative writing which isn't that good of a thing but it shouldn't take me too long to catch up on the work i am behind on. I still need to do a bit more research for my dramatic theory research paper and then start organzing my information and taking notes on it. Intro To Symbolic Logic is kicking my ass I really wish I could drop that class but I need it for my math credit grrrrrrr..
How much longer till thanksgiving break? Someone remind me please
I can't believe how fast this semester is flying by.. the fact that they got rid of midsemester break makes it go all the more quicker. While I don't mind the week of thanksgiving I am kind of annoyed they got rid of midsemester break because it's always good to get a break from doing homework and give your brain a rest. Course registration for next semester is already coming up. I am thinking of either double minoring in English and Theatre or swtiching the concentration of my major to public relations instead of professional writing. I will have to talk to my advisor about that when I meet with him on Friday afternoon. Basically my schedule for next semester is pretty generic because I need to take classes for my major and minor such as Inteperting Contemporary Affairs, Freedom of Speech and Short Story Workshop. They are offering this really cool class called The Disney Version which is where we compare Disney Movies to the original fairytales that were based on. That might be something I might be interested in taking since I am the biggest Disney Movie fanatic you will ever meet... I mean obviosuly who doesn't love a good old disney movie every now and then? I am also thinking of taking Directing 1 but i am not sure if that will fit into my schedule yet.
Midterms are over and boy am I glad. My stress level has been somewhat reduced but just somewhat because I still have the stress of working chapter reactions for interpersonal communications all which are due before we leave for thanksgiving break. As far as midterms are concerned i didn't really have very many. Just a presentation for interpersonal communications and a test in Dramatic Theroy. I am very nervous about how I did on my Dramatic Theory midterm I studied so hard so i am hoping all of my studying paid off. My midterm grades were 3 satisfactorys and 2 needs improvements.
Class Ratings:
1- easiest 10- hardest
NewEnglander 1
Basically this class is a breeze. I love getting credit for my articles I write about the theater shows :)
Creative Writing 3
This class is fun and i am enjoying it immensly. Kevin Harvey is awesome!
Dramatic Theory 4
I am quite nervous about how I did on the midterm we took on Wednesday but other than that this class is amazing. Yay Wally :)
Symbolic Logic 7 (this class will most likely kick my ass i just hope i can pass it) This class is kicking my ass and i am begining to become quite doubtful about passing it.
Interpersonal Communications 5
This class is interesting and i am really gaining a lot from it. Could've have done a lot better on my midterm.
Desktop Publishing 3 The material in this course was too hard for me so I had to drop it.
This weekend is midnight madness i am very excited about it It's gonna be one crazy time! HOLLA!!!
done for now

Brief Summary
have a few weeks off from work while they change over the exhibit at the gallery so that's always good. Now if i could only devote some of that time to doing homework instead of writing in my livejournal.
so here's another list that is a breif summary of the past few days
~ Saturday was Keene Pumpkin Fest. That was absolutley fantastic minus the long line we had to wait in for fried dough
~ I got in a fight with my roommate on Saturday night. Luckily we worked things out.
~ I am pissed at myself because I should've have been more perpared for my interpersonal communications presentation yesterday. If I had been more prepared my grade would have been a lot better. Now I am worried about doing well in that class because my midterm grade in that class was an N for needs improvement. :sad face:
~ Nervous about my dramatic theory midterm tomorrow. Hopefully all my studying pays off.
~ Loving Mr. 80% The play is going well and stage crew is awesome as always. Love my theatre crew! Stanis Johnson has got to be one of the funniest people I have ever met. Love her to death.
~ I'm hating the academic part of school right now. I can't wait for thanksgiving vacation when my brain can have a week of relaxation from writing papers.

Back from surgury
My surgury ended up getting moved up to Saturday afternoon since i was in so much pain when i got home there was no way it could have waited. I am feeling a little bit better now and am happy this ordeal is over and done with. I don't like the idea of missing school for a week that is not very fun for me at all.
Thank you all for all your kind messages on facebook and myspace I love you guys a lot

Update 3/31/11 Besides whooping cough which occured during the summmer between junior and senior year of high school that was the worst medical issue I have ever had to deal with. I really hope that cyst never comes back. I don't want to go through that pain ever again! So far it hasn't come back and i'm quite happy
