BOO!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

I am really hoping I get a bite for a job that pays something soon that is full time. I think the reason why my paraprofessional special education jobs that i am interviewing for aren't panning out is because I don't have the proper credentials because I didn't take enough education classes at school. I am going to be applying for a substitue paraprofessional job in the Amherst/Mt Vernon school district. I have two interviews next week one at Shaws on Monday and one at Market Basket on Wednesday. Hopefully I'll get hired by one of them.
I am so excited about starting my internhip with Peacock Players on Wednesday. I am looking foward to diving back in to doing publicity stuff again and seeing some more awesome theatre shows. I am also excited about starting my freelance job for the Milford Cabinet writing articles about the local theatre shows.
Obama better when the election.. if Mccain wins I think i might just move to Canada.

Yesterday I went to Henniker for the CTE Play Kennedy's Children and for my friends' Sam and Morgan's 21st Birthday Party. My whole group of friends went out for dinner before the show at Sonny's and it was awesome. The play was better than I expected it to be. It was really thought provoking and poweful. Everybody did amazing. The party was awesome. Autumn and I were the only two people who dressed up. I was Velma Kelly from Chicago and she was Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd. I love my NEC friends and I totally miss everyone!

I really want to get back on the dating scene. I posted a personal ad on craigslist and so far it seems to be genereating decent results. From my experiene with my personal ad that I put in the NewEnglander sophomore year I kept things short and sweet Let's see where that will lead me.

Time for bed. Busy busy day tomorrow doing stuff for the Barack Obama campaign

Nervous

Yesterday I went to an NEC alumni event in Boston with Matt. Not a lot of people that either of us graduated with were there but we made the best of it anyways and mingled with those who were there most of which graduated before we were there. It was cool to meet people from past years and find out what they have been up to since they graduated from NEC. I stayed over Matt's house and had a nice time. He invited me over to his house in Maine once he moves in. I can't wait... I love the area of Maine where is moving too Kennebunk. That's one of my favorite placess in Maine to visit besides Kittery, York and Wells.

I have to go to bed because I have an interview tomorrow at Mt Pleasant Elementary School in Nashua for a paraprofessional specoal education job. I am so nervous about it. I really want this job badly so I am hoping the interview will go well.
This week consists of the following
  • Job interview tomorrow.
  • Volunteering for the Barack Obama Capaign office in Milford on Tuesday,Friday and Saturday.
  • Eye appointment on Wednesday and getting new glasses
  • Going up to NEC on Thursday to go see the CTE play Kennedy's Children and also for Sam and Morgan's bday party. I'm gonna sex it up by being Velma Kelly from Chicago for Halloween.

Time for bed.

Among many strikeouts 2 homeruns

The job search is pretty much almost over!
Yesterday I had an interview with the business manager of Peacock Players a theatre troupe in Nashua. I start my internship with the publicity department November 10th. I am so very excited. Things have come full circle for me because I did theatre camp there in high school and have always been a huge fan of all the shows that they do.
This morning I had an interview with the editor of the Milford Cabinet. I will be doing freelance work covering local theatre performances starting after the election.
Monday I have an interview at an elementary school in Nashua for a paraprofessional special education job. I amvery nervous about it. If I get this job then my stress with having to find a job will be over!

So happy! I want to celebrate!! Oh wait... i'lll do that next week when I go out to dinner with my friends before the CTE play. *note to self* call box office to reserve tickets

Goals- Forgotten and new

So these are goals I set for myself at the beginning of the school year last year that I totally and completley forgot to summarize when school got out because my summer was just way to busy..so here you go in case you are interested.
This year I will not obsess about my grades too much to point where I drive myself crazy There were certain classes that gave me a run for my money and certain classes that didn't.
This year I will try not to be so negative about myself when it comes to guys. I had a boyfriend at the beginning of the school year but we broke up after a month. We are still good friends.
I will make auditioning for the plays easier for myself by not comparing myself to the other people I am auditioning with and go with the flow of things . Definitley accomplished this goal. I think what gave me the most confidence was the fact that I was cast in two plays at the Barn Playhouse and I didn't have to worry about comparing myself to the other people because I was asked to be in both shows after the casts were already pick. I really still miss being in Annie Get Your Gun... is that a bad thing?
( added note: I totally miss everyone from the NEC theatre department)
I will find someone to teach me guitar in my free time (whenever I have any) so I can put my my song lyrics to sheet msuic didn't happen. my schdule was too busy. I had no free time at all between homework, meetings and other activities.
I will fine tune some of my poetry and short stories so I can get it published in the Henniker Review Didn't get anything published in the Henniker Review but once my writer's block ends maybe I can come up with some new stuff to send in to this year's review.
I will make the freshmen feel comfortable with NEC life that's pretty easy to do.
I will go to the gym at least twice a week didn't happen as much as i would have liked it. to.
I will strengthen the friendships I have make new ones and try to get one that fell by the wayside a little bit last year back on track. sometimes there are things in life you can't control. friends willl come and go in your life. The key thing to keep in mind is that the people that matter the most wil stay by your side. YAY!! I actually got something out of going to counseling for most of last semester. I think my guidance counselor would be happy for me.
I will join at least one new club since I have dropped out of so many. I joned NECRA for two weeks, dropped out because I didn't really like it. I joined Student Art Assocition. I think I went to four meetings before homework overtook my soul. I kind of wish I had gone to more SOUP (gay/straight alliance) meetings. There is only so much my schedule allows me to do.
I will balance my eating habits better so I am not eating the same thing at Gilmore all the time I find this goal almost next to imposible to complete because Gilmore Dining Hall doesn't have that many good food options. And most of what they have is disgusting.
I will work on saving my money so I can have qutie a bit to go somewhere with my friends over spring break ( this would mean not having so many movie nights and doing at least one thing different other than watching movies and going to the plays.) NEW YORK! RENT! BARN PLAYHOUSE REUNION ALL OF IT IS LOVE!! :)
Senior year was successful on some fronts and not so successful on other fronts.

And some goals for some new direction in my life ....
Some new years resoulutions and some other goals.
New YearsResolution 3 Manage my time better so I am not so stressed out This went up and down through out both of my final semesters.
Goal/Prediction 5 I wil find a job I like- this will take a while.
Goal 6 I will help out with PR stuff for the PTA Play and Souhegan plays
I will be helping out with props and publicity for the PTA Production of Peter Pan in April. Dates, times and ticket info will be announced when I know it. I also plan on volunteering for the Peacock Players in Nashua.
Goal 7 I will eventualy move to Portsmouth and get a job at a theatre out there doing PR
Goal 8 I will get on deans list... did that ever happen? no.
Goal 9 I will get invovled in my community more such as poetry or book groups so I can meet new people and stop wasting so much time on facebook

Job search... raging on

So I got laid off from my job at the call center I was working at because of the way the economy is doing so poorly. That fact will not exactly make my process in finding a new job eaiser. I have put in my application to a bunch of different places but haven't had much luck with finding anything yet. I have been applying to various local elementary schools for paraprofessional special educator jobs no luck there yet. I have an interview on Thursday afternoon with the director of publicity at Peacock Players in Nashua to try to see if I can either volunteer or get an intenship doing publicity for them. Friday morning I have an interview with the Milford Cabinet for a freelance writing job so I am hoping that will turn into something.

I am getting really really nervous that nothing is going to result of this job search because of how bad the economy is right now. That's why I am crossing my fingers and hoping I hear back from at least one of the places that I applied for. Aside from the paraprofessional jobs I have also applied at Marshalls, Shaws, TJ Maxx, Market Basket, Hannnafords and Crotched Mountain. Crotched Mountain had all the positions filled for Teachers Aides so I am pretty disappointed about that.

Wish me luck in hopes that I will find something soon.

Well most certainly it has been awhile

Hello Everyone
I've been working through a lot of personal issues with regards to stuff related to the Barn Playhouse and worrying about being forgotten about by the people I worked with there and I made the wise choice to not make a big deal about that kind of stuff in an internet journal so that explains my lack of updating this lovely blog. I do however apologize for the long distance between entries.. seeing how the last time I wrote in here was in March and it is now October. Much has happened since March.. hopefully it doesn't take more than one entry to provide you with a full update what is going on with me.
First of all.. the last entry was dated March 4th and the last thing I talked about was my spring break trip to New York that seems like eons ago.....seriously does but it was the best time ever. I went with two of my best friends Cooper and Heather as a present for my college graduation. It was a total blast. We did a lot of shopping and sightseeing, met up with a few of my Barn Playhouse coworkers for dinner at Tony Dinapoli's which is very delicious and of course saw the broadway play RENT which was absolutley phenomninal. That's a play i would defintley see over and over again and not get sick of it.

School was school... the academic part of it seemed to drag on and on forever after spring break. The play I did crew for was abosultely amazing. It was a great way to go out of doing shows with the NEC Theatre Department with a bang. Graduation was a crazy day for sure. It feels weird to be totally done with NEC and not taking classes there anymore but i'm gonna try to go visit there as much as I possibly can.. going up there next week actually to go see the CTE production of Kennedy's Children which Emma Laing is directing. The first couple weeks of summer were crazy with looking for a job but i was busy in between with hanging out with friends.. seeing Carosuel at Lakes Region Summer Theatre in Meredith with my boyfriend Matt... we're not dating anymore but we're still really good friends. I went to Italy on vacation with my family for two weeks at the beginning of August.. that was the most absoulute best time ever and I want to go back. I then started my job at a cusomer service call center in Manchester which I just got laid off from a few weeks ago. Now it is back to the job search. I am trying to stay as positive as I can but with the way the economy is it's kind of hard to stay postive. I hgave been applying to local elementary schools as a paraprofessional education teacher's aide so I hope one of those jobs will end up panning out. I got a freelance journalism job at the Milford Cabinet so there's a bright spot so that way I can keep up with my writing since my goal with in the next year is to move to Portsmouth to get a job as theatre reviewer for a newspaper out there.

I hope to make more active use of this blog since I will be using livejournal and my blog on myspace a whole lot less.

Love
Janine
